RCV is claiming they are getting the better strength performance than a D60? How is that possible?

I’m thinking they mean a D60 with standard u-joints.

Then "everybody" must not know what a salvage yard is. Or a fabrication shop.

I never said BUY new D60s. I said convert D60 to the JL.

In fact, I could probably do D60s front and rear for $1,400.

But if people want to go ahead and drop that money on axle shafts for a D30, go ahead. It's America.
Exactly and since you woild be the one doing the converting youd pr
For example, a 30 second search shows lots of D60 axles with 4.10 gears at various locations starting at $350 bucks. If you spent more than 30 seconds digging around you could probably find them for less.

Sure, it would be slightly more work to cut the brackets off and weld new ones for JL control arms, but not much more work than swapping out axle shafts.

Y'all need to learn the art of getting more bang for the buck. ;)

It’s not as simple as just buying an axle, cutting the brackets off and welding on what you want. We’re not driving 4k Toyota beaters around. Don’t get me wrong tho..hard to beat an old beater Toyota! Haha.

What about ABS, disc brakes, speed sensors and various other things. Not to mention a dana 60 weighs almost double.

Then what about the fact that for 350$ you are probably not getting an axle with a locker and the gears you want. So there’s another couple grand.

It’s easy to see why some want a stronger axle shaft in a perfectly stout dana 44.

Just found this on RCV’s site about the Seals.

Note: These tube seals do not fit over the inner splines of the JL RCV Axle Sets. However, it is possible to disengage the inner shafts from the CV joints and slide the tube seals on from the other end. If you are purchasing the axles at the same time as the seals, let us know and we can ship the axle set with the tube seals already on the shafts.

I have a question as i am going to install the RCV axles in my JLUR, Has anyone installed these axles Seals and are there any benefits or negatives to installing them with the new axles???

Not really.

No doubt you can buy the axles and maybe brakes and maybe get lucky with lockers...but the ABS rings won't match up.

Wheels...you're gonna need some 8 lug wheels for those 60's.

You'd have spent 1400 on axles so you can spend another 2k on wheels and 1-2k refurbishing them...I'll keep my RCV's and retain my wheels and full vehicle function.

I have the axles seals on my JL. Installed them before the RCVs. Continued to use them when I put in the RCVs. I'm glad I have them. Keeps the dirt out.
