Rattling upon acceleration

Add my Jeep to the list.

I've read this whole thread. Gonna try higher octane. The idea of taking my Jeep to the dealership is extremely unpalatable. It's not just that I don't trust the technicians, but that the general belief is that the engine runs too lean and that FCA needs to fix it.

Spent 50k on my JLUR. It should run without knocking, right @JeepCares?

I completely agree. I wasn't about to let the dealer have it for a week just to tell me it's normal. It's not. Hey Jeep Cares I want to file a case, we paid too much for problems that are unavoidable from a manufacturer. I've got rattles, pops and clunks on a brand new jeep. Yes I know it's a jeep but my 94 YJ feels more solid and sound!

I have the same sounds coming from my jeep. It has about 2000 miles on it. Have an appointment set for Wednesday. We shall see. I have the 3.6 6 speed.

My jlu sport 6 speed has some noises and I have no answers for this thread but just adding my thoughts to the pot.
At high load and low rpm acceleration I have an occasional knocking sound that definitely sounds like it’s coming from the front of the vehicle. Could be pre ignition but sounds more clunky like something in the driveline. Maybe some kind of slack in the driveline created by the fad design?
I also have a distinct rattle noise under the same conditions that seems to be directly under me. Very noticeable with the doors off. I’ve read a lot about transfer case chain rattle on JKs and wonder if it could be the same on JLs? I’ve spent a lot of time around Harleys and heard similar rattling from a loose primary chain on those.
Again I have no answers just adding some other possibilities that y’all may not have thought to investigate. I’ll be following to see if anybody figures these noises out.

After calling about 3 times I received the message that it needs further inspection which will not be done until Friday the 21st and I cant receive a renatal car as I am under 23. This is great.

I appreciate it but my Jeep is highly modified at this point including the axles and suspension. Even though I have not touched the engine or transfer case, I doubt any warranty issues would be honored. Thanks.

I guess I wouldn't rule it out, but it happens worse in certain temperatures and pretty much goes away with premium gas. That's a sign of pre-spark ignition.
