2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport 2.0
Hey everyone. I’m new to this site. I’ve owned 3 jeeps so far and love them. I upgraded to a 2020 wrangler unlimited sport 2.0 I’ve only had it for a month and when I first start it in the morning it kinda nasty it’s like a rattle rough start once I start driving it goes away. I can continue driving it for the rest of the day and no problems but if I let it sit for a few hours it’ll have a rough start. I did take it to the dealership and they said this noise is normal. I work at a collision center and most of us agree we don’t think the noise is normal. I’ve read some reviews the 2.0 has a rough start on cold mornings. I do live in Colorado so most mornings are cold. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊

Timing chain tensioners are failing/phasers. The engine is so naturally noisy most can't ever tell if it's running correctly or not.

Definitely. It’s still a little sloppy even after the first few seconds of rattling hard, this one needs some parts.

Did it do it on the day you bought it? I have a feeling somebody traded this thing off when they realized what the repairs were going to cost...is it inside the powertrain warranty still? 5 years/60,000 miles
