That was bone stock in my Gladiator eco. I’d be willing to bet I could’ve gotten 600 on a straight highway drive. It’s too bad we only got 19 gallon tanks ?‍♂
18.3 gallon tanks in our EcoDiesels.

I would put the def tank in the bed if it meant I could get the 24 gallon tank like the gasser gladiator has. I bet I could get 650+ on a 24 gallon tank! On 37s I’d still be able to touch 500 on a good day.

Stock I was like 28+on highly mpg. 2.5 in lift. 35s, roof rack, some weight here and there; mileage now around the 25s on a good day on the highway. Range maybe scrapes 380ish

All vehicles that give a range will use the current average MPG to forecast the estimated range. Typically it’s the last 20-30 minute average used in computations. It’s also based on a guesstimated gallons of fuel in the tank.

The estimated distance on a fresh full tank is based on your recent driving performance. it will vary from fill to fill.

you very well may be be losing your mind and/or tripping, but you're not wrong.

MPG will adjust based on your usage.
range estimates will adjust accordingly.

Hello, fellow diesel owners

when you fill up full tank what does it say on the range ?
i recall when i first brought it home , it was full tank it was over 400~ of range
a year later , an i hope im not losing my mind here, on a full tank with Shell, i get about 360 ish maybe a few more miles
i have no idea what changed, because the window sticker also had something like 400 something range on a full tank, am i tripping here ?
Please chime in

It's definitely not based on extremely recent mileage or I would have had insane range when I was screwing around to get these ludicrous mileage numbers:

This!! Your estimated range is based on the mpg of the last X amount of miles and will fluctuate based on this. If your current range is 350 miles based on your last ten mile average of 23 mpg, then getting 26 mpg average the next ten miles might make that range go up or go down slower compared to the actual miles you are driving. On the flip side, getting 19 mpg the next ten miles will make that 350 mile range go down much faster than the actual miles you are driving.

My range before removing some exhaust equipment was around 445 miles since I average between 24 and 25 mpg each tank. Now that I average between 26 and 27 mpg, it generally shows around 485 mile range when I fill up.

I was getting 24-25 mpg on 37's at 32 PSi with a GDE tunbe. Took a tire off after 20k and it was more worn in the center. Now running 29 cold and getting 21-22. Range always seems to show 350-360 after every fillup.

The DEF tank is behind the axle. Moving it won't make room for a bigger tank. The smaller fuel tank is because they needed room for the fuel filter. If you relocate the fuel filter you could use a bigger tank.

The only online documentation I can quickly find is from a Volvo site. For their computation they use the calculated fuel economy of the last 20 miles of driving.

That's apparently not what Jeep does. I had a little over half a tank, so my estimated range would have been in the neighborhood of 800 miles when I was getting 96.4 MPG.

Yeah, you can seriously screw with these types of things when coasting out of the mountains of Colorado.

For the first 300 miles or so after purchase, I had my range est. displayed in the dash for reference while I drove. Now I check it every once in a while when I'm just cruising. I'm getting such good fuel economy compared to my previous 4xe's that I don't even think about how far I'm going on a tank anymore. It's such a liberating experience to not give a single F about how far I can stretch my refuel stops or constantly be trying to maximize electric efficiency out of a battery pack.
I've been tracking some progress on Fuelly and Gasbuddy with every fill up to see how good the fuel mileage has been (I didn't start when the dealer gave me a full tank, otherwise I'd have more data). So far I'm averaging 20mpg on partial fill ups (11-12 gallons) with about 70% city/rural use. I have noticed after this last fill up that my displayed mpg is closer to 21-22 though so it'll be interesting to see what the final tally is for this tank (I did the oil change and fuel filter swap midway through the last tank).
Realistically if I can average 360-400 miles with mostly city/rural driving (as I've more or less seen to be the case currently) on 37's, I'm not complaining one bit because I know the road trip mileage is gonna blow that out of the water. Be contrast, If I wasn't charging on a regular basis with my 4xes (to skew the hell out of the ACTUAL mpg), I was routinely seeing 260-285 miles a tank on 37's. 100+ miles of extra range with mostly city/rural driving roads is a huge win in my book, even with the fuel costing 20 cents more a gallon.
