Can't wait to see those juggernauts on that diesel.

I like those MT tires!

Very nice! Can’t wait to see post-install pics!

I’m nearing the 20k mile mark on my Ecodiesel and have most of what I need for suspension + wheel upgrades. I’ll be joining the club as well very soon :)

Let’s see it, dang it! Don’t be a tease.
I’m not doing the build myself. A gentlemen named Anthony Atkins and his crew are doing the build. And I will do my best to keep the progress up to date as best as possible.

That being said, it’s going to take 2-3 months for this build. Gutting the interior and factory cage, putting in a Genright cage, building a custom rear link system, then powder coating virtually everything and putting it all back is going to take time. She feels like a bottomless pit. But she will be worth the wait. ?

Where you are going to put on big shoes, you can’t skip out on leg days. And when you don’t skip out on leg days, you also need to remember to strengthen your core. Hence…. an Atlas 2spd Transfer Case for the Diesel!

Atlas on order. Hopefully it will be in in the next 3-5 weeks. Painful 5K, but it will be worth it in the long run.

A long time ago I explained what we were building. Yet Covid happened, parts were hard to get and the diesel parts were even worse. No one really knew what gear ratio to run, 42’s were not out yet and if you want to run 20’s, you were vilified by some and praised by others for stepping outside the norm and rules.

So for the last three years I’ve been collecting parts as they became available and praying that my idea would come to fruition. And for the most part it has. It’s sad that the ecodiesel is short lived, because parts are going to be a challenge in the future. But that’s a mix of politics and environmental policy. I’m not going there. And the diesel wasn’t as popular as many hoped it would be. Yet marketing and strategy played into that in my opinion. Ford brought back the bronco and Jeep put a 392 into the Wrangler to cut Ford off before too many non-purest jumped ship. Not saying that I am a purest, but I love my diesel and my dream.

That being said, progress is being achieved. Cage is tacked together and the frame is ready for the lift. All the parts are ordered except for the fenders. I’m debating between two companies and two different looks. One is similar to the factory look and the other is a typical rock crawler looking fender. More on this later.

The entire concept of this build was to make an overland vehicle that could literally go anywhere. Yet that concept wasn’t so popular a few years ago. Now it’s way more popular and it makes me happy that other people with way more experience and popularity beat me to the punch. I don’t have to wonder if I am doing the right things in this build. Instead I have learned from there builds and have made adjustments to fit my taste. And that’s one of the many beauties about the Jeep…. Build it how you want.

So as I have iterated in the past, this build is fairly straightforward…

Dynatrac 60/80 with RCV Big Bell Axles
Trail Ready wheels
Nitto 42’s
Genright cage
Genright rock sliders
Genright bumpers
Genright tire carrier
Warn Zeon 12S winch
Rebel Offroad coilover brackets
King coilover’s
Next Adventure skid plates
American Adventure Lab rack system
3 Comms units
Etc.

As for the fenders, I currently have Rugged Ridged high clearance on the rig. I love the look. But the quality of the fenders are absolutely garbage. Worst purchase I’ve made on the build thus far. As far as replacing them. I’m debating between the Next Adventure fender flares or the Nemesis Industries high line (wider) fender flares. Both look good, but have different looks to them. Stay tuned for the final decision.
