Quick Opening Oil Drain Valve

Did you have any problems installing it.
I bought this, just did an oil change and it would not go in and I didn't want to force it, so figured bought the wrong size. Looked around and this does seem to be the right size so not sure what was up, but again didn't want to strip it/cross thread it

I don't know about you, but I always thread backwards first, when you hear that little click, then you thread it forward.

Either that or check your threads, you might have received a damaged valve with bad threads.

I actually found out about this product from the Subaru Forester forums, and a lot of those guys over there have been using this brand for like 10 years, so it comes highly recommended from those guys over there.

Yeah I'd look at your threads and make sure they're not damaged.

My exact M.O. with the fuel cap on the Suzuki's aftermarket fuel tank. Mild ovaling of the fill neck over time is a known issue, and it happened to me. The Reverse Click, as I've come to refer to it, tells me that I've aligned the threads and can tighten the cap securely.

@xtremejoe -- M14-1.50 is the confirmed fit on our Wranglers. I've a Fumoto drain valve on my Jeep.

How well do the oil change techs deal with the Valvomax or the Fumoto valves?

There may be times when the dealership needs to do an oil change as part of other work being done (eg when my 2015 Grand Cherokee 3.6l engine needed new head gaskets).

Heh, I've had so many people tell me "you're going backwards" because I do this every time for so many things.

In isolation, they were objectively correct. Drain oil, hot though it is, flows out more slowly as a consequence of the valve's nipple necessarily being narrower than the threads on the oil pan in which the valve body is attached. See the photo in post #9 on p. 1.

meh, then there is the take the bolt off, put it back on, torque. I understand seconds count, 2 places guaranteed under 30 minutes, i just said i dont care time, just make sure its all tight, leak free.

And yes I have fumoto because i do my own, but not on a 10,000 mile roadtrip. I drink my mocha latte while they do it, and talk to the young techs give them a pointer or two...
