Questions on ordering Sahara...

I'm new to the jeep family but trying to read up on a bunch of threads. I have been interesred in Sahara 4xe and had a few questions, hoping you can help:

1. Are people here typically preferring 4xe technology or gasoline only?

2. Is the 4xe working out better especially with the $7500 federal credit or is it just the inflated prices of 4xe being offset by the credit?

3. Any thoughts on lease vs finance on Jeeps or really personal preference?

4. Are there any must have options on '24 Wranglers? I'm particularly interested in leather, alpine sound system, 3-piece hard stop (one touch sky is nice too) and side step (for the kids).

5. Finally, more on the offloading side: The delaer is saying the all seasons tires on Sahara are not off-road capable. I'm not looking to take on any complex trail for now but more of gravel roads with 1 or 2 difficulty. Is he correct? He was pushing me towards Willy for better tires or Rubicon.

Don’t listen to me, but here is my opinion.

Gas 3.6 Rubcion X with SOT top. I don’t think the 4xe is a safe option but many people seem to love it.

Pay cash.

Rubicon X leaves very little room for options. Love the active cruise control and would not buy a Wrangler without SOT top.

Rubicon X with 35 tires is ultimate in luxury and capability. I live in Florida, very small mountains mostly sand and beaches. It’s my daily driver and rides great and can go almost anywhere.

Buy your Jeep and enjoy the hell out of it, I do.

I always find Ratberts advice and comments helpful.

What would be a good example of a proper Wrangler use case?

I can't imagine anyone ever providing a good example of a proper Wrangler use case. It's a term that's overused and, almost always, incorrectly.

I don't see it in the 2024 build option as a V6, only a 4Xe.

I'm not a fan of the leather or lease option. I have no knowledge of the 4xe. I do know I wound not waste the money on the electronics or safety packages. too much electronics to go bad. I use a garmin for navigation when the phone doesn't work. I wouldn't opt for led lights unless they're heated or you never see snow. Do go for the tow package, the 3 piece body color matched top, limited slip diff, and heated seats (keeps the takeout warm too). It's all personal preference but the Sahara is a damn good ride for a jeep. It's not a 2024, but it's mine.

I have a V6 High Altitude with the 20 inch tires a JEEP you can no longer get.

Oh right the Sahara 4xe got the same wheels as the HA.

The Wrangler is a very good substitute for a cargo bike in the winter.

Depends, the HA comes with quite a bit of standard equipment, mainly safety, and premium seats, so it all depends on what you want.

It also has many body colour parts like bumpers and mirrors, which means if you damage any of those parts, it's more difficult to replace for cheap.

Like a plastic bumper can be found for $100-$200, mirror $100 etc, but for body colour you might have to pay full price replacement parts, and paint match etc.

I think in the US all trims can option the SOT, the HA seems to have it as standard equipment, so you are paying for it in the base price.

Sahara High attitude owner. I havea3.6 satisfied with it. But don’t do any wheeling so works well has a better ride. But if you r going wheeling I would do some other trim. No on 4xe

I have a High Attidue. With matching top. Did not want soft top. Just not me. They sometimes have wear issues

I owned a 21 had problems. And simply judging from others. Your 4xe will spend more time at the dealer Service dept. and I know mine did. I know not all r problem childs but with all the technical stuff I would not go that way

Sahara owner here. For your described offroad usage, a Sahara is more than capable - Willys would be overkill.

You can *easily* swap the tires out for more aggressive tread if you do decide later that you want to tackle harder trails. The bigger thing would be to get rid of the 18" rims on the Sahara (the 4xe might come with 20s even) and go down to 17" rims. They'll look better, perform better offroad (more sidewall), and tires will be cheaper, since 17" is a more common rim size for offroad tires.

The Sahara comes with a decent set of running boards/side steps.

this is spot on.
i own a sahara with rubicon suspension and tires.
the stock sahara is more than what you need however build it however you see fit. i’m not a huge fan of the rubi suspension (stiffer than sahara) and sometimes wonder if i should have stuck with the original suspension.

I'm not a Jeep head by any means but the 2021 has the bigger axles and Mojave brakes incuded in my High Altitude package and the SOT was only 2k.
