My suggestion would be to do just that. Put it up in the garage so it doesn’t get “ruined”, they feel special because they see it up and being used, you get to keep your Jeep unmolested. Stickers on the tool chest or work bench, frames around old vintage license plates or plastic ones with “Jeep” as the plate sequential, stuff like that.Sounds like many of you struggle as I do. I hate Christmas time just for this reason. Too many times people spend their money on some random thing that will just get thrown in the garbage because of a felt obligation. I’d rather just go somewhere and have time with the family and/or friends; use the gift money towards some vacation home for a long weekend and play some board games or do activities outside. Money much more well spent. If I want something, I’ll just buy it. Unless it’s a private pilots license and Piper aircraft, wife said I can’t just go spend $150k…. Racist of her.
I will say my wife has completely hit the mark sometimes though. She got all the family to chip in on a nice Blackstone for me two years ago. This past year I told her, “if someone asks, just tell them Jeep decorations for the garage.” So, I got a bunch of stuff for the garage, I think all that I’ll be putting up. It’s unfortunate that if someone goes out and searches online because “oh, franky likes Jeep things” they’ll find lots of cheap angry grill accessories and think, “$20, I’ll just get it.”
