2021 Willys JLU mostly driven on road and only one off-road trip thru Berdoo Canyon in SoCal has a squeak. After the trip the Jeep started to make random squeaks when going over uneven road / bumps (noticeable when windows are down). The Jeep needed an oil change at 7434 miles on the clock, so we took it to Russell Westbrook Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Van Nuys, CA since we had three free oil changes + tire rotations when we got the Jeep new.
When we got the Jeep back it still had the noise. Few weeks later We made a second appointment took the Jeep in and after two days they said it needs new rear breaks and the parts were on order but we can pick up the vehicle till the parts arrive. At this point the Jeep has barley 8004 miles.
It makes no sense to me... specially when they sent the report during the oil change showing there were no issues with the brakes (se below).
What am I missing here........Any input would be appreciated. Thank you all.

Don’t know what kind of squeak you have, but…

Did you have the top off during the trip? Sometimes mine does the same - remedy is to be sure the bolts for hardtop are securely fastened and/or clean surface between top and Jeep body because dust and dirt in there can squeak too. I use a little wax before putting top back on and just dust off the top and Jeep before reinstalling.

FWIW, my 2021 JLU Willy’s (8800 miles) has never had any brake noise or suspension noises - if that’s where it’s coming from it’s a different story.

hope this helps

Brakes don't wear out in 8,000 miles. Sometimes the rears pads go at about 40,000 This depends on ones type of driving.
Squeaks over bumpy roads, would be suspension related. Or if it is a squeaky rattle, then something loose.

The seal around the glass in the rear hard top got squeaky on mine. I got some rubber gasket lubricant from a Honda dealer, greased them up and it went away. Now the symphony of squeaks from my dash when it's cold out is a whole 'nother story.

Thank you Dave, we never have taken the top off since new. I think the noise is coming from the rear I will double check and make sure all the bolts are tight. Perhaps that's a good place to start although the stealership said they checked it who knows if they really did or not.

Thank you Bill I agree with you, it would be premature at 8K hence my confusion on the stealers findings.

Thank you for the recommendation on rubber gasket lubricant, I will definitely look into this.

If the squeaks aren't occurring during braking, then it's probably not brake related.

Since it began after your off-road trip, I suspect it's a suspension squeak. If you were in a real dusty/dirty area, it's possible some dirt has found it's way into a suspension joint or rubber bushing. Wash the underside really well, spraying a concentrated stream into all of the bushings and joints to flush contaminants away. Another area to clean is where the springs reside in the spring pads. Once it's dry, buy some Fluid Film and spray each joint and bushing, to include the bolts going into the joint/bushing area.

Drive a road where you know the squeaks occur and see if it's fixed.

We are also experiencing squeak on 2021 wrangler rear glass when going over bumps . I can duplicate noise by pushing on glass .

Can't tell you..shhh
Just a poke here, but since the squeak started after an off road trip do you think you could have loosened anything up in your spare tire or tire carrier? Mine squeaks from the tailgate when I'm on a rough road.

I had squeaks from my rear glass. Used some dielectric grease on the seal and it is nice and quiet.
