I have the wider Mopar’s, there’s enough to step on, I haven’t splashed through anything to see how much it stops.

Great pics - this helps a lot to get a feel for how far they stick out. More the distance I am looking for rather than a full step.

I have these and the cost is definitely high but the convenience is next level. I have had them for a full year now (dd, 11k miles) and have not had an issue. If the motors last a couple of more years they will be worth the price. They mount using the body bolts so anyone considering them might want to keep that in mind. There are 3 brackets on each side that mount with the body bolts and then the steps have 4 small bolts that are screwed into each one of those brackets (welded nut). They are also bolted to the pinch seems with 6 small bolts on each side. They are 3/16" steel with reinforcement bracing throughout the inside and they have a 2nd 3/16 skid plate you can buy that covers them.

You could buy quite a few other accessories/mods with the money that these cost but if your priority is to have a step I cannot say anything bad about them. Not to try and sell them to you but when I ordered mine there were a couple of small items missing and so I called them just to see what the items would cost and they said to that they would give them to me for free. They knew I would just take the steps back to the retailer anyhow so they offered to give me the items. Luckily for me they are in Utah and so I just took a ride up to their facility, which the gave me a tour of, and picked up the missing parts. They stand behind their products is what I am getting at and because of that I would buy them again.

A small but cool thing is that when you step out of the Jeep you step out to the lowered step and so peeps are not grinding whatever is on the bottom of their feet or on the outside of vehicle into the edge of the rocker panel (below door). Also, they can be used pretty easily for washing the hard top. I normally use a stool to go to the upper step and then walk down the vehicle and onto the back tire when washing. Just one more item that makes the price a bit more justifiable.

I have the ROAM frame mounted step/sliders (which does not require removal of the body bolts--and is not something I would even consider after reading the horror stories posted) and love them. They provide some protection from debris being flipped up by the front tires, but ultimately, mud flaps provide the best coverage.

I didn't have any broken bolts but did hear a couple pops that freaked me out a bit. I used a 24" breaker bar and went slow and steady. It was Nov last year so the temps where about 50 degrees and I did not heat them up beforehand. I have seen many peeps just throw a impact on them and go but at the time there were a bunch of broken bolt stories circulating so I wasn't comfortable with ripping them out with an impact.

The brackets were a PITA to put on since the threads on the bolts only allow the washer to move so much. So you can pound them on or you can take a dremel and grind off a couple of threads to make them slide right in. Pounding them on would most likely strip the powder coating off and so you could see some rust on them earlier than need be.

I feel I need to express that they are not the rock sliders to end all rock sliders. What I mean by that is you can find frame mounted rock sliders that would be stronger for when slamming down on rocks etc. These are going to be strong and can take a beating but with enough force they can be dented/pushed up. So if you are a hardcore wheeler and plan on bashing on rocks all day, I would buy the extra skid plates that they offer or look at something that is made for that type of wheeling. There is no doubt they can take some abuse but they are step sliders with electric motors so if you want them to last a few years it might be best to not abuse them too much.

I picked up Tygers and they seem to sit ther needs. Wanted something wider than the JLUR rails and the steep slopes me to wash the roof without a ladder.
These are extremely heavy and solidly built, I can jump on them without any flexing. And they're under $300.
