I purchased a 2021 JLUR this past May, and with the recent drop in temperatures, I have a question about the heating system operation. Is it possible to have fresh air entering the cabin without heating or cooling the air?

This morning, it was 50 F degrees, and I thought it would be nice to have cool fresh air coming into the cabin. Unfortunately, the air got heated to whatever temperature was previously selected. I don't think I can selected a temperature as low as 50, to turn off the heat. I've had other vehicle where I choose whether I want heat, AC or fresh air. I don't see this option

Could you set the fan to a certain speed, put the temps on low, and turn off the AC?
That's what I did. AC off, fan on a low speed. The outside air was 50, I couldn't set the inside air down that low. The heat came on.

Yes. This has been my default airflow setting for over a month now, with respect to the pleasant temperature trends we've enjoyed since early Sept.

-Right knob set to blended dash/floor
-Center knob (temperature) turned fully left, just above the A/C On position
-Left knob (fan speed) on 2nd or 3rd detent, usually

The foregoing provides as much fresh, ambient-temp airflow as I'd like.

My controls are different. My left knob is volume, center knob is c=fan control, and right knob is channel.

I'll try this, but I think if the outside temps are higher than the selected temp ( I think 60 is the lowest), it blows cold air, even if the AC is not selected.

I might help if you posted a picture of that part of your dash.

I had guessed that the more intricate HVAC controls implied in your first post would be the culprit here.

That seems to be the case. My controls are duplicated with the U Connect touch screen and buttons/knobs below the screen.

60 deg F is the lowest temperature I can select. In the picture below, the outside temp is 75. If I didn't have the AC switch selected, it would throw heat.

Here's what my controls look like;

Auto off, temp to low A/C off re-circulation off and control speed with the knob should just be fresh air.

This worked fairly well. I would increase/decrease the fan speed to control the air temp.

Both driver/passenger temperature settings need to be set to "LO" and AC needs to be turned OFF. Select the dash vents (only) or floor vents (only). No defrost vent settings.

Auto mode will automatically re-enable the AC and use as needed, but the A/C button light will not illuminate. Don't use Auto mode if you want unconditioned air.

If I recall, these systems have a humidity sensor and will run the AC pump regardless if it is turned on, or not, at a specific humidity threshold.

Yes, release the two latches above your head and flip the top back 😁
