Washington State law requires doors. If the vehicle left the factory with doors they are required. Tube doors will not count. Most cops don't care. It is the law.

Windshield is not required in Washington State, windshield wipers are required.

Ignorance of the law does not make you innocent.
Has anyone put together a list of states and their degree of allowed / illegal?
From the responses in this thread it seems like maybe just PA?

Did you not know it was prohibited in PA?
WOW - I'm in PA and see door-less JEEPS all the time. Guess it depends on how the authorities feel on any given day. Never saw or heard anything stating " no doors" from the law or insurance company.

Is Pennsylvania the one state where there is no beer available at the gas stations ?I remember when I used to drive up to Canada from Florida and thirsty as a sailor I would ask for beer at a gas pump in the Keystone state and the attendants answer was so crushing NOPE SIR . You know I could live with the door law but don't take away my beer.
They do at some Sheet's finally.

It wasn’t enforced. I’ve been riding around for over a year without them. And the state troopers said it was a gray area. It was a local cop that pulled me over. I see lots of jeeps here without doors.

It’s asinine that a state that allows motorcyclists to not wear helmets is worried about Jeep doors.

Well, I got pulled over for no doors in Pennsylvania by a local cop in my neighborhood. Not pleased at all. Was told it is illegal in Pennsylvania and next time it will be points and a hefty fine. He gave me the option of going to get my doors back on or the ticket. The cop was hard assed and looked for every infraction. Needless to say, I am afraid my days of riding doorless are one until we move. Doubt I’ll still own the Jeep by then.
PA cops are total dicks. I've never been pulled over driving from NYC to Indiana except in PA... 5 times. All for petty BS reasons. I want to print a manual of laws and prove them wrong when they try again next time.

"late signal"
8MPH over (really....?)
having iPad on mount in front of passenger side... facing passenger side... OFF. LOL

petty losers :)

How that can be? Your forefathers fought the revolution so you could have dry Sundays?
I'm 8th generation New Englander and a Native Massachusetts born resident ..

I fled that nanny state as fast as I could. Between restrictions, taxes etc it's turning into NYC east.

Cradle of liberty my ass ...

I moved to NH 27 years ago

No Income tax
No Sales Tax
No Seatbelt law
No Helmet law
No Mandatory car insurance
No mandatory Health insurance
No LTC needed to conceal carry

Everything listed is in effect in Massachusetts.... there's a reason they call it the "commonwealth"

That is not accurate, what Washington has is a Mirror law. Obviously, if you remove your doors... it also removes your mirrors, then you must have side mirror alternatives (2 rear facing mirrors in Washington, so you could get away with driver side and center rearview mirrors). I run door'less in Washington with mirror replacements every summer for years, and I've never had a cop say anything.

I was driving today without doors and I parked two cars away from where a cop was sitting in his car. He watched me get out and I took extra long locking my stuff in my security box and he didn’t say anything. It depends on the officer/area/day. I’ll go to Harrisburg if this thing were to ever get off the ground.

Technically, Mopar makes tube doors so don't they count?

This paragraph must have been cut, it’s on the parts description on Mopar site, $1100 list, must have been manufactured by Apple.
Note: Do not drive your vehicle on public roads with the doors removed as you will lose the protection they can provide. This procedure is furnished for use during off-road operation only. All occupants must wear seat belts during off-road operation with doors removed.

For all us California jeepers where is the code for doorless. Must have two mirrors.

“Looks like you need the rear view and at least one side mirror on the driver side.
V C Section 26709 Mirrors Mirrors 26709. (a) Every motor vehicle registered in a foreign jurisdiction and every motorcycle subject to registration in this state shall be equipped with a mirror so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle. Every motor vehicle subject to registration in this state, except a motorcycle, shall be equipped with not less than two such mirrors, including one affixed to the left-hand side. (b) The following described types of motor vehicles, of a type subject to registration, shall be equipped with mirrors on both the left-and right-hand sides of the vehicle so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway through each mirror for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle: (1) A motor vehicle so constructed or loaded as to obstruct the driver's view to the rear. (2) A motor vehicle towing a vehicle and the towed vehicle or load thereon obstructs the driver's view to the rear. (3) A bus or trolley coach. (c) The provisions of subdivision (b) shall not apply to a passenger vehicle when the load obstructing the driver's view consists of passengers. Amended Ch. 74, Stats. 1970. Effective November 23, 1970”

I believe the same law is enforced in Ohio. If it came with doors you have to have doors on.
Possibly it is possible to have “factory” tube doors. No door protection other than solid doors will help if you get T-Boned. Also requires a rear view mirror.
