I’m going to play around with it this weekend if i can find the time. I’m tired of the Tazer cool down method…

Have to change the rear pinion seal first….. Thanks to the dealership.

There is a way. I'm scouring the wiring schematics to find the wire colors you need.
Edit- found this thread

Looks like you want to wire up a switch to the brown/violet wire for the fan.

That's a schematic for the EZ-PWM fan controller I linked earlier. I think that, without that PWM controller, if you cut the Brown/violet wire and put it a switch in place there, it might have the opposite effect we're looking for - letting the fan run like normal in one switch position, and cut the fan off entirely in the other position (instead of running it at full speed)

I can change it in my TD3. It's an option when you go to apply the tune.

Can you elaborate what this function is/does if you know? By the title I assume it is the high target temp that is the target temp before the fan will go on? Have you adjusted it and if so what did you observe? This feature might swing me to the superchips tuner with TD3 features.

At highway speeds I have the classic coolant temperature swing from 220 ish down to 190 ish (with oil temp swings of 230ish down to 200 ish). Either the fan is going on or some other coolant control is activating. It appears the cooling system has the cooling capacity because it quickly cools down to 190 and the jeep simply has a control "feature" that bounces between high and low setpoint...very crude.

This is the temp the ECM will attempt to keep the engine at during normal operation. It uses its own logic to run the fans to keep it at this number, or as close as possible.

Very helpful. What is the factory setting for the target temp? Is there a complete list of settings/functions the TD3 can adjust?

I'll have to pull up a file and see what the stock ECT settings look like to confirm.

Adjustments include idle speed in P/N and Drive, Rev limit adjust in D or P/N, fan control, throttle adjustment, speed limit disable, tire size, axle lockers, lighting configs, ESS disable, and more.
