when I lower my soft top (premium) i have to open the tailgate slightly as it doesn’t clear the brake light. Also, after driving for a bit, the “header bar” (part that attaches to windshield) gets stuck.

I actually broke the clamp that holds in the hard top wiring harness pulling the header part out as it was stuck below that.

It fits great and closes just fine, windows all fit. But this doesn’t seem right too me.

Anyone else having this “fun”?

My top also gets stuck. The bar that goes across the back of the window ( Bottom ) . I have not found a solution yet.

Is your brake light adjusted higher than the stock tires require?

This is the 2nd or 3rd post I've read about someone snapping the wire harness when trying to pull up or remove top.

Seems like a simple design flaw that will likely be fixed in the 2019 model.

Thank you! I searched a bunch before I posted this, that never came up in my search
No problem. I was not sure exactly what piece you were talking about that broke. I did recall the post I linked so I figured you could see if that was the same piece and check out the discussion around it as well.

Has anyone figured out a fix for this? I was thinking of moving the harness holder next to the sportbar and securing it with some velcro.

Mine did not snap, but the vehicle side dummy clip did pop out. I just had to pop it back in. I could see how the soft top was catching on it and I even took the fold down top off and reinstalled it to ensure I had the earlier steps aligned right. But the soft top still "slid down" on the driver's side and was smashing against that (really nice idea to have the harness and wiper hose with tape reinforcement) clip.

A shame because that clip and even reinforced tape hose holder is a nice idea...it just gets smashed by the top sliding down on it. I'm wondering if someone could make a metal bracket that just hovers above it like a 6" bent "L" just so the soft top sits on something solid and not the electrical/washer connection.

Second though...that dummy holder on the body panel snaps out, so wonder if you could snap it out, leave the electrical hanging out of the way for soft top partial install, then put reattach the holder to the panel and snap the electrical/washer line once the top is clear. You'd still have the problem if you drop the top for full open though :/

My fix was to put a sunglasses case over it and not have it in the clip spot. Protected and it doesn’t scratch up the Jeep either. Cheap but effective.
