Picked up my Rubi X just after Christmas. Decided since I had painted fenders to have some PPF done to keep them from getting too beat up. Did the front end, front and back fenders, and they threw in around the windshield since I didn't need the bumper done. I had them ceramic coat it after as well. PPF is 10 year (no yellowing or bubbling) and the ceramic coat is 8 year. I have to take it back next week for the first wash (they like to do the first one) and they will put the decals back on then too. After that, maintenance for the ceramic coat is once a year they will detail it and topcoat again. Looking forward to easy summer washes.

I have no experience with the film so I hope that wasn't a mistake. Just looking to protect her a bit.

Thinking of fluid filming. Thoughts?

And one a few days later in our lovely Michigan winter. They will have their work cut out for them with that first wash :D

If you used a quality PPF, it is all you need. Mine has full PPF. I hand wash and use a light spray sealant on top of the PPF and it has been perfect. Very, very diminishing returns stacking stuff on top of it.
I only did the ceramic because I didn't do a full PPF. It was soooo much money to coat the whole thing. I'd have loved to, but it just wasn't happening. PPF is Xpel as is the ceramic.

I have PPF and ceramic on my sports car. PPF holds up well. The ceramic longevity will depend on how much exposure to the elements your Jeep has. 8 years is a long time - I don't think I've ever seen ceramic coating last that long. Ceramic won't do much more than wax in protecting your vehicle but I like how it beads up the water. I use an electric blower to dry my car and only need a small microfiber to finish the job.

No PPF or ceramic on my Jeep. Given the way I treat this thing it's like putting lipstick on a pig ? .

My husband wants to treat my Jeep that way, but he baby's the heck out of his car and had it fully paint protected before he even picked it up from the dealer. Wouldn't even take it to work or to hang out with the guys the first few times it snowed (kept taking my Wrangler). That's what got me thinking I needed paint protection. His entire ride is on the highway. Still working on him taking his own car. I think having mine gone for a few days helped, :CWL:

I did the same with my 2021 4xe right after taking delivery and planning to do the same with the current Rubicon X I have on order. I also had ClearPlex applied to the windshield because Gorilla glass wasn’t available when I took delivery. I’m still not sure I trust Gorilla glass considering some of the posts I’ve seen on the forums and now that the antenna is built in, I’m going to have ClearPlex applied to the 2024 as well. Sorry about the Michigan winter getting your baby dirty a day after the PPF and coating applications.

I did PPF as well, but being this jeep is gonna be driven till I probably die, I did the WHOLE thing. The shop had it for almost 2 weeks doing the PPF. They pulled it apart!!! even pulled the tailgate too (I just found that out LOL). BUT it was expensive. Like I cried when I had to pay for it.

three months later it looks like I drove it off the lot. Oh and I did do the windshield protection film (think I will do the DIY one next time. BUT I already needed a new windshield after less than 500 miles)Now when I wash it every week or two it's a TOTAL breeze. Also the PPF is self healing so the normal little wear and tear/scratches disappear.

and congrats on getting yours. I have not been in the 2024 waiting thread in a while.

Yeah the whole thing was so expensive! I wanted to, but we bought two cars in two weeks. I am a little worried about the windshield too, but didn't want to add that with all the expenses we've had recently. I told my husband we'll rethink it once we break it once, lol. I do plan on keeping this for a while. I really don't like switching cars out all the time. I just want to take care of it and be mine.

The shop had mine 3 1/2 days. He had four guys on it to get it back to me that quickly. When he did the quote he told me all the stuff he would take off/apart to wrap it right and I didn't like hearing all that , but it was nice to know they do it right.

I'm really looking forward to washing it! I've always washed my own cars, but hoping the bugs come off much easier!

I know someone who broke their gorilla glass windshield the first week. Rock from a truck going in the opposite direction :( So yeah, I don't have faith in it either.

I figure I'll wait and see. If something happens to it, I can always have them do it when I take it in for the yearly detail and topcoat.

How much was just the PPF?
Normally it would have been $2200, I added the back fenders so it was $2600. A full car was $6500. They take all badges and decals off and stuff off the hood as well. They wrap wherever they can as well. I'm in Southeast Michigan.

Like several others have already said, I did the PPF on the front end and fenders and ceramic coat on the rest over a year ago. I drive back and forth between Baton Rouge and Charlotte, NC once a month and it still looks new. It’s also a breeze to keep clean. I recently added ExoShield after replacing the windshield for a 3rd time. Hopefully that’ll help prevent the 4th time from happening anytime soon. I can only hope…
