Unfortunately the straw method did not work for my 2020. It changed the sound from a high pitched chirp to more of a lower pitch styrofoam against styrofoam sound.
I get the tape mentioned in the thread tomorrow and I feel hopeful it will work.
The good thing is that at least we’ve isolated the problem. I’d always thought it was the black sealant around the window, so I spent hours meticulously trying to stuff it inside (thinking to myself “surely this can’t be normal”)

I have been working with Jeep Corporation for the past 4 months because my 2020 Rubicon with the sky one touch top has the same issue with the rear windows squeaking like crazy. Jeeps released a temporary solution which was mylar tape. I went to the dealer for the 4th time regarding this same issue and the mylar tape did not fix the squeak.

Apparently jeep is working on a permanent solution but they have no idea when they will be released. This is disheartening and unacceptable. Jeep should have never sold this top as an option if they couldn't get their design flaws fixed first.

Here is where I placed my tape...you can see it covers the entire area where the pin would slide into place on the latch.

Did this fix the issue? And what kind of tape did you use?

Polyethylene tape worked like a charm. No more squeaks and the latches close even smoother than before. I. have plenty extra for any local JL’s that want to stop by and use it:

According to others in this thread, it works.
I've ordered it and it arrives tomorrow.
I'll update everyone on whether it works for my 2020 Sahara.

I feel like I should send whomever in this thread that figured that out a BIG check!

Today was the first peaceful, fun drive I've had in my Jeep since purchasing it.

I rode into work WITHOUT music so I could hear everything...

And after a very bumpy Atlanta city street ride, not a PEEP.

Completely quiet ride!

Sadly the tape only worked for about 5 miles for me please keep us posted if your sound comes back. My service adviser just mentioned that Jeep may have larger seals for the side panels or an updated version. They are working with their parts department to determine if/what the differences are.

Blast WD40 into the pin mechanism. That worked for me and going on 300 miles with no squeaks.

I put some WD40 on the 2 bottom pins that insert. Then on the top I put some Vaseline on the metal plate the pin slides up against. So far squeak immediately went away. 2020 Jeep Rubicon

Just got my 2020 unlimited Rubicon three weeks ago. 300 miles on it. About a week ago I noticed this subtle noise like styrofoam rubbing together. The noise is random but never happens when the vehicle is stopped and the noise is unaffected by braking. It also seems to be more pronounced when it is a little cooler out, (below 50 degrees.) I can't seem to pinpoint exactly where the noise is coming from, sounds like in the back near the rear interior as my best guess. I have the sky one touch and have never removed the back side windows. They are fastened with screws and the screws appear to be tight. Anyone have any updated information on this issue?

Try applying Vaseline to the window seals to lubricant them.... It works with when the targas meet the hardtop i don't see why that wouldn't work with power top windows

try the lubricant rvs use for slide outs
