I'll try that too - I used a medical Rock Tape on the latch plates and it did not work. Seemed to work for a short period and the sound started coming back.
I think the key is using tape specifically made to reduce friction/squeaking between adjoining surfaces. Let us know how it works for you.

My polyethylene tape is arriving to day so I will chime in after I install it and drive around a few days.

Polyethylene tape worked like a charm. No more squeaks and the latches close even smoother than before. I. have plenty extra for any local JL’s that want to stop by and use it:

UPDATE: Not one squeak the last two days...the tape seems to have done the trick...easy to do at home...no dealer trip needed, and they probably won't fix it anyways LOL.

This is awesome news. Can you show or describe where you applied the tape please?

I put a strip of polyethylene tape on both surfaces of the silver bracket on the frame where the latch makes contact (one strip on the top where the pin rests, and one strip on the side of the bracket where the latch secures the window to the frame)
I'm almost to weeks in and no squeaking at all.

I just cut pieces to stick onto the metal latch plate...long enough to cover the distance that the latch moves along the plate when you close it.

Updates: I have tape on order to see if that will fix the issue I've been dealing with since June. I have now had my Jeep into the dealer 5 times with no resolution. I have tried tape, straws, cardboard wedges, etc. and the dealer has added additional weather seal and nothing has helped.

As of my appointment yesterday Jeep is ordering a new side panel to see if that will fix the issue. During this appointment they took a panel off another Jeep with Sky One Touch and placed it in my car. During their test drive this panel made rattles but not the sound you will hear of the video. Is this what others are experiencing? During my 4th appointment I was told this was a "normal" sound for a Jeep Wrangler.

Here is a video of the sound while driving this afternoon on standard city streets:

Oh man. "Normal" sound?? My Sahara with one-touch is yet to be delivered, but this is unacceptable! It sounds like you have a nest of chipmunks back there! Please let us know if the tape solves it for you, too!

The tape should be delivered for me but I was holding out hopeful it would be fixed by the dealer with my appointment last week or yesterday. The dealer added some sort of plastic pin or cover on my latches during one of the previous appointments but it only helped for a few miles. It seems everything I do will make it a bit better and then it comes back just as bad.

Thanks sbco for the video. Definitely the very same sound coming from the removable side windows of my 2020 JLUR with one touch. I'm sure Jeep needs to see numbers in order to respond to a problem so I probably need to get my butt into the dealer and let them take a shot at it anyway. Would definitely like to see evidence of Jeep engineers making an effort to correct this.

That’s the sound I had, although yours is a bit worse that it was for me. The frictionless tape eliminated it entirely. Hoping you (and others) have the same result.

Polyethylene tape still working great...squeaks are 100% gone. Easy fix without letting the careless dealers touch it.

Sadly I have not had the same result. I ordered the same tape as you from Amazon and placed it on the 4 metal plates. It helped for the first 5 miles but the sound has now returned.

It may not be the latch that's squeaking then. Can you post a picture of where you placed the tape?
