Update: O-ring trick only lasted 3-days so I removed them. Then the rain came and I noticed leaking in all 4 corners so I sent the car for a service. After 2 weeks at service they claim the leaks are fixed (waiting for some rain to verify). But they couldn't identify the location of the squeak/rattle and said "hopefully it gets worse so we can find where it comes from".

It's incredibly irritating and very hard to ignore to the point where it shifts focus away from driving/road conditions.
I have that stupid squeak too. Hope someone figures out the noise and posts what it is.
Just got off the phone with Jeep as I now have to bring in the Jeep for a third time with this awful squeaking. They upgraded my complaint to a case manager who said they will make sure this is fixed. I am not sure what the fix is yet but I will keep everyone posted.

So after not hearing back from the service department, I decided to go after it again.

In my case it appears to be the metal spring pin on the removable side panel latches rubbing against the metal latch plate. There are visible wear marks on the pin.
(Why someone would design a dry metal on metal system is beyond me).

I applied some Alumaslick onto all the pins and to the latch plates and have been squeak free for 2 days. Hopefully this solves it. I'll report back in a few days if it's all good or as soon as it squeaks.

UPDATE:

I am now being told after bringing the vehicle in today to rectify this issue this: road test and found noise from left rear where side window locks to hard top. found noise from right rear corner of hard top. found noise from passenger side front overhead. would need to remove hard top to check all hardware.

Ultimately now they are saying that the whole sky power top most likely will need to be replaced and that it is not coming from the rear windows.

The whole service experience has been AWFUL and my jeep I had factory built has these two ongoing issues that seem to be getting worse.

UPDATE:

I've been squeak free since applying the Alumaslick to the latches.

So now I just need to keep an eye out for leaks.

Ok. I have had this same sound for a while now with my sky one roof Jeep and it would go away and then come back. Now it’s getting pretty bad. I had my girlfriend drive the Jeep while I got in the back with the seats folded down so I could pinpoint the location the sound is coming from. It appears to be the rear glass hatch that is making the sound. When I opened the glass hatch and we drove around, the sound was gone. So it’s something to do with the rear doors glass hatch rubbing on the lower tailgate door when closed. I closed my tailgate a little harder than normal and that seems to have also helped.

I’d be interested to hear if any other sky touch users can confirm my results.

So...

Clicks and random noises drive me absolutely crazy...I have one emanating from the driver's side removable quarter rear window. It sounds like styrofoam cups rubbing together and it's not based on rough roads. It goes away when the window is taken out, and for a few minutes when it's re-installed.

Anyone else with a similar situation or have any insight as to how to stop it from making noise?

Thanks!
Chris
Just got my fully loaded JLU with SKY ONE Touch and noticed that identical sound. Its definitely coming from the windows because I sat in the back and pulled windows close to the car frame and noise stopped. This only worked for a few minutes. What is the permanent fix!?!??! I cant stand the vehicle now and hate it because of the styrofoam noise.

We have a 2019 JL Unlimited Sahara w/ the Sky One Touch and the very first night I drove it from the dealership, I made a friend drive and I crawled into the back to try to identify the squeak/whistle sound. Absolutely 100% the removable rear driver's side window. Am trying not to go nuts before we take it in for the first oil change. Any advice on how to approach dealership to get it actually fixed, not temporarily fixed? I did try tightening the front latch (front-most of the two). It appears to be as tight as it's gonna get. However, when I open the same latch about a quarter of the way, I can get the squeak to stop. I can also get it to stop if I ride in the back and apply pressure to the window. :) Not really ideal for transportation. Ha! If I can do this without going clinically insane, it'll be a few thousand more miles, so I'm all for advice.

Has anyone had this issue fixed to where it does not come back? I just took my Jeep in for it's second appointment to review the issue and was told there is no known fix and they are opening a Star case with Chrylser. The Jeep/top is great except for this noise. I frequently drive down a road with multiple expansion joints and the top starts rattling and screeching so bad I can't stand it. As a fix I have attempted to put some tape where the latches are and it helped for a few days but came back.

Add me to the list. On my JLU Rubicon, the squeak comes from the front latch on the passenger side removable window. Tried lubricating where the spring pin meets the frame (as a previous post suggested), but did nothing to fix the issue. I'd be great to hear more from the Jeep Care Specialists who monitor this forum about efforts to fix this issue. It's clearly a widespread defect on Sky One Touch vehicles.

Noticed the same high pitched squeak coming from the front latch on the passenger side removable window during our test drive at the dealership. I was able to fix it later by smearing a thin layer of dielectric grease (cuz that's what I had handy) over where the latch engages with metal on metal contact. I now have just 1,500 miles but so far so good. :fingerscrossed:

Same issue here. The noise is unbearable, like nails on a chalkboard. I would love to see a Jeep service bulletin about this issue and what the recommended fix is.

Why oh why did I order skyonetouch on my yet to be delivered Sahara? I'm dreading the issues I'm going to no doubt encounter from steering, to rusty door hinges, to creaking doors and seats and now squeaky windows. Doomed!
