Power Sky Removable Windows - Squeaking? Noises?

So...

Clicks and random noises drive me absolutely crazy...I have one emanating from the driver's side removable quarter rear window. It sounds like styrofoam cups rubbing together and it's not based on rough roads. It goes away when the window is taken out, and for a few minutes when it's re-installed.

Anyone else with a similar situation or have any insight as to how to stop it from making noise?

Try applying Vaseline to the window seals to lubricant them.... It works with when the targas meet the hardtop i don't see why that wouldn't work with power top windows

It might be a defective seal or loose latch. It should not be making any noises.

don't use Vaseline, go to NAPA and get the product called Sil-Glyde,

Mine did that (awful annoying squeak) and 3 of the 4 latch bolts were loose from the factory. Snugged them up with the T40 in the Jeep toolkit and the noise is gone.

Mine one week old Rubicon with Sky Touch Top is doing the same. Dealer said the right rear latch needs replacing. He cannot get it to tighten any more. Apparently the latches are currently on back order and he says it will be at least two to three weeks before he can get one. My left rear latch has now started to squeak as of last night, so I am calling dealer today to tell him to go ahead and plan on ordering two of them. Starting to wonder if this is going to be an ongoing problem, or if there could possibly be a flaw in either the design or with the latches they are using. I love the convenience of the Sky Touch Top, but the constant squeaking noise is not almost maddening. Hoping Jeep can get this fixed quickly.

I had the same problem on my 10 day old Rubi - driver's side rear latch would move if I hit a bump, even though the latch bolt was really tight and the squeak would come back. I ended up using 2 #10 danco o-rings (1 per latch) to get them to tighten up. Take the bolt all the way out, place the o-ring on, re-insert bolt, tighten up. Be careful not to over tighten or you won't be able to move the latch.

I am getting same thing with my Shara JL Unlimited with sky power top. Brought it to dealer who said they lubricated and the noise went away for about twenty minutes. I called them and scheduled for this Friday which hopefully will take care of the issue. I understand some squeaks and rattle are normal with a Wrangler but this squeak is constant, only coming from one side and it’s enough to literally drive someone crazy. It’s not matter what type of road you drive on, smooth, bumpy, even pulling out of driveway. Love this vehicle more than anything so hopefully they will be able to fix it and make it 100% perfect.

Update: O-ring trick only lasted 3-days so I removed them. Then the rain came and I noticed leaking in all 4 corners so I sent the car for a service. After 2 weeks at service they claim the leaks are fixed (waiting for some rain to verify). But they couldn't identify the location of the squeak/rattle and said "hopefully it gets worse so we can find where it comes from".

It's incredibly irritating and very hard to ignore to the point where it shifts focus away from driving/road conditions.

Just got off the phone with Jeep as I now have to bring in the Jeep for a third time with this awful squeaking. They upgraded my complaint to a case manager who said they will make sure this is fixed. I am not sure what the fix is yet but I will keep everyone posted.
