Finally, our JLUR XR landed at our local dealership late this afternoon! Hopefully we will pick her up tomorrow once she is cleaned up and ready. My goodness she looks awesome—
Yay! Finally! She's a beauty!

Hi Everyone, I am new to this thread/site. It's nice to talk to other people while we wait for our vehicles. Attached is my build sheet and below is my status with dates.

Order date: 10/8/2021
Supposedly production on 22s started: 12/16/2021
D1 Status: 01/10/22
Expected ship date from dealer: 01/25/22 (not hopeful since Jeep chat is telling me it's still in D1)

Questions:
Anyone know how long the actual build process takes when it starts?
What do you all plan on using for the Sky One Touch and Paint/Rust? (I live in Michigan so the weather and salt is damaging).

Very excited and anxious to get my Jeep soon. I love seeing everyone's deliveries here. Congratulations to those who have received their XR so far! - Ameer

First off, welcome! It's a good group here, and this thread in particular was very nice to have while waiting for my XR to be built.

"Expected Ship Date" usually translates closer to the day they start building your Jeep. It usually goes pretty quick from there as long as supply chain issues don't interfere with your build. No matter what, it feels like a painfully slow process. Patience is required if unexpected delays derail your build. It can and does happen, unfortunately more often these days. In the end, I promise it's worth it. The XR is a great package, you're gonna love it!

Again, congrats!

Is this your first Jeep?

Thanks so much for the reply! It's so hard waiting anxiously for something so beautiful, haha. I will keep that information in mind, thank you!

No, I had a 2017 JKU Rubicon before this. The dealer offered me 2K below retail of what I bought it for after putting 60K miles on it and owning it for 5 years (crazy market right now) so I couldn't refuse. I don't think I could go without a Wrangler in my life so here I am buying a new one. LOL. I am very excited about the XR package since I had no modifications done to my previous Jeep.

Very nice! I was offered a similar deal on my 19 JL (over msrp) when I decided to pull the trigger on the XR. It's been a huge upgrade for myself coming from the very basic of base models to the XR. I'm loving it so far. This is my 3rd wrangler, and I have to agree, I don't think I want to go without one ever again. They're such a fun vehicle.

If you haven't already started tracking your build, I'll link a previous post from this thread that has a bunch of useful information on the whole process here.

Are you planning on modifying your XR? Not that it "needs" anything, but I just have an itch to modify vehicles and rarely leave anything stock ?

Very nice! Yes, the XR is definitely a big upgrade for sure. I was going to go with the Mopar lift after purchasing a 2022 Rubicon but having everything built straight from the factory with a WARRANTY is just a no brainer in my opinion. I never did anything to my previous Jeep but always wanted that beefier stance/look so it's nice to finally have that in my next purchase.

I doubt I will do any heavy modifications other than maybe lights and a winch (haven't decided yet). I do have a bunch of stuff in my "Jeep wish list" on Amazon that I will be purchasing like 303 protector, trunk organizer, bulletpoint phone mount, Mopar all weather mats, cup holder inserts (Jeep grille), portable jump starter box (in case I need to help anyone or myself), portable air compressor, 7 inch replaceable antenna and grab handles. Hopefully that's it for now. LOL

Thanks for sending me the link to that previous post of yours. I registered my vin for tracking. That's nice to have! Thanks!

Front bumper and winch. Likely change out the factory springs for Rock Krawler triple rate springs and maybe some MC RockSport shocks. Depending on how the new XR packagerides and handles. Already have a new set of Rock slider steps.

Wondering what Rock Sliders steps you got. Im picking my XR on Tuesday and I need to get so type of steps so my daughter can climb into the jeep. Figuring the ones that say they fit a 21 Rubi will fit a 22.

Oedro they are 100lbs. So I was pretty surprised how stout they are.

Those look nice. Do you have to remove anything to install them? Checked them out on the Oedro website and it said it didnt match my vehicle even when I put in a 21 Rubi. Assuming they will fit a 22 if they fit a 21 Rubi. Thanks

Mine went very quickly from there for the main build. Although it seems most of the XRs spend a week or so in “optional equipment”, as long as you don’t get selected for additional inspections I would think you’d see your window sticker in the next 10 days or so. The window sticker usually signals that your vehicle is built and waiting on a train.

Oh man, that 392 XR is a really nice combo. I can’t believe it actually made it to production.
