Dealer has 21 Altitude w/ package of 18 wheels, AT tires, HD suspension and gas shocks, I have no intention of off road. Should I pass on this vehicle and order vehicle w/ stock and 17 wheels.

You're good with the Sahara. Or the Sport. But much difference there other than cosmetic. The sport has same suspension and shocks. If you're not offorading, you'll be fine with either.

I have an Altitude, and it's like a Sport & Sahara had a baby. They don't market it well, but it includes the bigger Sahara Brakes, the Sahara suspension, but sport interior with blacked out trim. I love the look of the black out badges, wheels, and the 18s with All Terrains.

At the end of the day, drive it and a Sahara, if you don't feel like you'd use the 110v outlet and higher end materials in the Sahara go for the Altitude. IMO, I'm not a huge fan of the color matched fenders on the Sahara so it was a win/win for me. Saved a couple grand going Altitude built as I wanted vs a similarly equipped Sahara.

My Saharas have all had 18 inch wheels and I loved them. Might have preferred 17 inch wheels, but mine have all spent 2 days a week on the beach and never any problems, certainly no problems on highways.

My Sahara is no slouch on the trail or the snow.

If you ever want to get into off-roading, simply add a little lift and a set of 34s and yer good to go.
