Having an issue with my soft top which was just installed by the dealer. I put it down fine but it will not go back up the whole way. It gets hung up and the problem seems to be with these brackets. Do these pics look normal? Both brackets look like this and I have a hard time believing this is right?
Those look like they are separating. Mine are much tighter, there is no visible opening on the seam. There are some bolts on the face of the brackets, can you tighten them down? Maybe put the top all the way down first.

Hi Redlizzie73,
I understand why this is frustrating. If you decide to have your dealer address this, please send our team a private message and we would be happy to offer an extra layer of assistance!

Does anyone have an idea what this part number is? The bar is bent and now the locking mechanism was taken apart and itā€™s almost impossible to put it back together and get it to work? Please help

Here is a pic of the internal part of the locking mechanism. Do not even attempt to open yours. Learn from mine

I had the same locking issue installing my new soft top.. i put the top in, and attached with the screws...I was able to get it to unlock by leaning down on the back of the top, pushing it down toward the back of the jeep which let me unlock it. Iā€™m going to follow up with my dealer, didnā€™t seem normal.. glad I got it unlocked though!

I had the same problem with my brand new softtop today. After trying different things the thing that worked was pushing down on the top itself while pushing the switch to unlock. Must have been upward pressure on the lock from the top not being all the way compressed. Hope that helps.

Well I had the same problem. One side locked the other unlocked, tried locking them both then they were both locked. Unlock, locked = locked. After jacking around with it 45 minutes I saw this this metal piece in the back of the roof, I pulled it. Guess what, it unlocked both mechanisms. It's a light gray handle that pulls those cables on the real support on the driver side. I'm surprised no one posted this

Jeep has a You Tube video for both raising and lowering the soft top, which does show the gray handle. maybe this can help, don't know. wish you the best on getting your tops back up.
