I've read that today's "eco-friendly" paints just don't have the same durability. It seems my Honda is a chip magnet which is the norm according to the Honda forums.

Yes, since the mid-2000s, auto pant has become more and more fragile, especially European paints due to stricter regulations there.

In short, anything on the front end that isn't clear bra protected will get rock chipped sooner or later, and likely sooner.

I have a clear bra on my FJ that has done its job for the most part but I do have a few hood chips higher up.

We're glad you reached out. Concern such as these will need to be addressed by your dealership. They will be able to determine the nature of the paint blemish and will be able to advise further from there. We recommend reaching out to your dealer as soon as possible to have this looked into. I recently purchased a new 2018 JLU in white and have multiple imperfections and discoloration in paint . Has anyone seen this in there’s kinda pissed of for 40 plus thousand is expect perfection . Grill is turning yellow after 1 month of Onan we ship and lots of drip marks in paint around car

Welcome! Seems like it’s going to be a fun ride here on the JL train. From paint, to welds, and what ever wields it’s ugly head. Had my JL 2 weeks and it’s in for squeaky bushings or what ever it could be. Go over a speed bump and it’s loud! I never noticed it until I went over a speed bump last week. 1st service dept didn’t hear it. Lies. Went to another dealership and politely asked someone to ride over some speed bumps or driveway entrances and he heard it. Hopefully it’s fixed to day, so I can give back this Renegade. My friends call it the castration of Marty. Lol. Nex I need safelite to come fix my windshield before this stone hit spiders. Good times. My wife’s jinxed me. My 16 JKU never was in the shop. She said I trade this one and I’ll likely get one that had problems. Glad I avoided al the tech options. That decreased my chances of having issues. In all honesty so far the issues are minor detail.

Did they figure out what the squeak was in yours? I have that in the back right when I hit certain bumps.

Yea I had bad swaybar bushings. Fixed now

I’ve got paint issues too...on a firecracker red JLUR. Didn’t notice them until I hand washed the vehicle. Every time I wash it I notice more issues. Also, my read fender was coming loose. If I hadn’t pushed it back in I’m sure it would have flow off somewhere on the highway when I least expected it.

My 2013 JKU had major paint issues with the hard top. Enough so that the dealer had it repainted for me. Also, the entire right side paint felt like it had been hit with a sand blaster as if it was left outside in a sand storm. Bothered me for quite a while until I traded it in for almost the same price I bought it for.

So yes there are QC issues and we should all be pissed. Can they be fixed, sure if you want to deal with whatever option the dealer had and from my experience the dealers paint options often sub’d out to another shop aren’t very good...typically lowest cost.
