So while detailing my Jeep, I came across a paint defect on my hood. Have not took notice to any bird droppings on my hood lately and even so have never seen anything like this from that. I washed my Jeep yesterday and was finishing wiping it down with quick wax today. My Jeep is a 2021 and have not seen this issue till today while waxing. Did not even see it yesterday while washing. Doesn’t look like the typical Jeep corrosion/bubbling. Some sort of fish eye maybe, but the Jeep is a year old. Kind of hard to see in the pictures but has anyone seen this kind of paint defect? My local jeep dealer is going to be looking at it this week. I was just wondering if anyone has seen this before.

I had the same exact defect on my JT fender. I just ignored it, but it looked like the clear was too thin and flaking. Interesting to see on another Jeep.

Definitely looks more like contamination damage than paint failure. There looks to be almost a ring there, as if a cup/container/bottle of chemical was sat there. Brake fluid can do that if not cleaned off quickly.

The last cowboy I could definitely see some idiot at the dealers doing something like that, but it hasn’t been in for service in a while and I just noticed it. I’m pretty meticulous when cleaning my jeep(every couple weeks). I could notice something like that from a mile away especially when cleaning my vehicle. Luckily the dealer told me they are gonna try to warranty it.
