I have the 3.6L with 8800 miles.
today I drove my normal routine and just before getting there the Coolant temp soared to 258*. All other temps were in range. shut It down right away and popped the hood the coolant level was normal did not see anything out of the ordinary. Left the hood up for 20-30 minutes and started it up and drove off. Temps did get up to 227 which is higher than I normally notice, on about a 10 miles drive. Got some diner and about an hour later went down the highway 75ish, temps stay at 195-198 for the entire way. Got off the highway another 5 miles home (expecting it to overheat), got no higher that 205.
so it seems all is good, but now I don’t trust it. Mostly because my wife is handicapped and I have a young daughter; being stranded with them would be hell especially around where we have to drive through.
what would you all do in this situation? I could take it in to the dealer, but if they cannot reproduce I just wasted a day or two. They never have a loaner, and need a vehicle for my wife’s doctors appointments….
i had a brake issue awhile back and the dealer said they had me on a list for a loaner, I called every day for two weeks, then gave up. Called them today about the loaner and still nothing. Very disappointing to say the least.
anyhow thought?
