ESS air condition possibilities

I’m curious if anyone might know… but my understanding is that the ESS battery will run the AC when the vehicle is off. If so, dthat mean the AC compressor is electric or is it belt driven and there’s an electronic motor in there somewhere?

I ask as I’ve got 3600 W/hr of lithium and I’d love to be able to run the AC for the dog when I run into a store or even have it on at night when I’m sleeping in the vehicle and it’s hot.

I know I might need a few more ah/hr for the overnight, but if this could happen, I’d certainly invest in this for the comfort.

Anyone have any idea?

AC compressor will not run just the blower so it blows unconditioned air, my ESS however does run the compressor …….. I never use it so my engine never shuts down ?

And if you sit long enough (with ESS active and A/C on), it will eventually restart the engine on its own and show a message about cabin hvac temperature as the indicator of why it turned back on.

Doesn’t the 4xe have an electric compressor? Maybe retrofit that system in place of our belt driven one.

It does. This idea came from a test drive if a 4xe. I doubt its be an easy swap... Not if you have a 4xe, that's a different story.
