I installed the Oracle Lighting Reverse Lights that are designed to fit in the reflector location on the JLUR rear metal bumper. I purchased the wiring harness to ease the installation. Not sure that it made a big difference in ease of installation. Probably wouldn't order the $25 harness again. Anyway, the lights work great and are what I had hoped for. The indentations on the metal bumper were not the exact same size. One reflector popped out easily. The other reflector must have been hammered into place because I had to break it to get it out of the indentation. The install of the reverse lights was the same. One went in easily and the other one had to be lubed up and gently hammered into the indentation with a soft rubber mallet. They work great when you put the Jeep into reverse.

I want to know has anyone wired them this way plus wired them to the Auxiliary switches on the dash? I would like to operate the lights without having to put the Jeep into reverse or having the motor running. Please share with me what you may have done. Can you have it both ways?

Those reverse lights are very bright for sure. For this most part if you use the aux switch, it either has them on or has them off and then the revers light would work when in reverse only when the aux is on. I'm sure there is a way to run some kind of modification to that.

Do you happen to have a wiring diagram for the Oracles? I can help you figure it out.

Here's the stock wiring:

Alright, looks like Oracle kept it nice and simple, looks like you are pulling power and ground from the driver tail light. LEDs have relatively low draw so that's definitely the easy answer to the intended operation:

The stock system triggers with positive from the BCM, so you have a standard ground you should be able to use for both triggers.

It would appear the BCM is just using an onboard relay, so I wouldn't expect it to be monitored for outside power (or have an issue with outside power), so, really you can just connect the Aux switch to the positive side of the circuit.

One issue with this, is that you will be lighting up your driver side reverse LED in the taillight if it's not separated. To prevent that, you should be able to add a diode to the connection between the tailight and the aux splice, making that a one way circuit.

Thank you both for your responses. They are very informative. I will try it soon and update the thread.

Out of curiosity, do you have a Tazer?

I used the trailer harness to tap into so when i try the 5 unlock presses my reverse lights come on but not my oracles due to using the trailer light for reverse.

I don't have a Tazer at this time. Sorry I can't provide you any information.
