Hi I'm planing to buy a new used 20-23 Gladiator under 15K I had read the jeeps have many problems, and I would like to hear from you Jeep owners, your personal opinion if is worth the investment , Im a 60+ male not interested in rock climbing or any heavy 4 wheeling. I just don't want to spend my time at the dealer. Any good opinion good or ?? I would much appreciate Thanks David .

I have a Wrangler, I really like it. A few problems with some sensors in the first two years.

If I didn't do hard core off roading I would buy a Toyota.

I guess a better way to put it, I will tolerate a not so perfect reliability record for the solid axle and soft top and ability to remove the doors.

Are you interested in the Solid Axle on the gladiator ? Will you take the doors / roof off?

Are you really finding used Gladiators for $15K? That's quite a bit below what I'm seeing, no matter how many miles.
OP is talking 15k miles, not $15k.

Ahhhh, he said under 15k. Miles makes a lot more sense.

@tamparider if you're considering new then check out the spreadsheet in my sig. Most of those dealerships do the same / similar discounts on Gladiators.

You'll be choosing between the 3.6L Pentastar (MT or AT) and the Ecodiesel (AT only).

Whole lotta 3.6s on the road in different vehicles, but it does have it's issues. You'll likely only want the diesel if you spend a lot of time on the road. There are clutch issues with the MT, but the ZF based 8 speed auto is pretty solid.

If you don't want a convertible, to go off road, or at least want to modify it, gonna be pretty hard to justify a Jeep based on practicality.

Just sold my Mojave Gladiator. I did like the truck for the most part, but what killed me was the engine and transmission pairing; the manual in it was just not good at all. The spacing was all wrong, and I think it mostly came down to the weight of the truck. My partners 2 door JL is excellent with the manual on the other hand.

I will miss having a pickup for house projects and taking the kayaks out. No regrets on getting my new wrangler though.

My 2 cents on getting a Gladiator; get the automatic. It’s just better, flat out. I love manuals but this ain’t it.
