I've been debating my order, but want to get the deal done before the end of the month. My closest dealer would do invoice +800, so I sent out a few inquiries. I didn't consider the possibility that more than one would come back willing to deal, as that hadn't been my experience. (American friends, keep in mind that no one in Canada has gotten less than invoice yet.) Currently, I have two dealerships who have agreed to invoice pricing and no doc fees for the following build:

JLUR
3.6L V6
Manual
Cloth seats, black
17 x 7.5 black aluminum wheels with polished lip
Safety group
Dual top group
Steel bumper
UConnect nav group
LED lighting
Cold Weather group
Mopar all weather mats
Remote proximity keyless entry

I was surprised that I got a few yes responses from the dealerships that I contacted so quickly. Maybe because it's the end of the month????

Anyway, now I'm in the strange position of having made contact with a few salespeople who have agreed to the price I've set. Is it a dick-move to follow up by telling them that a few dealers are able to do the price I want, and that I decided not to get the HD Tow and Aux switches because of price, and that I'm planning on adding the grab handles at all 4 doors, and the black sill guards, and say that the best combo of price and accessories gets the business?

(Additionally, I have a trade I'd like to put in motion, but of course, on the weekend, it started to have brake/bearing issues, so I'm not sure what to do about it.)

@JLWF Dealer Guy , thoughts on both the deal and the trade?

I’d say take the deal on who you feel comfortable with. Your trade. Is an issue. Can it last 2-3ish months? Can you surrender it now? Trades on orders are almost impossible to bid.

Thanks!! Appreciate you taking the time to answer! It’s my husband’s car, and he loathes it. I think we’ll get rid of it now, give him my DD, and I’ll go back to driving my LJ, and just promise her regular baths to get rid of the road salt.

I think that's perfectly fine.

I had a few dealers who offered me similar pricing, including one which was 5 minutes from me. But that dealer was a little too complacent while another dealer 100km away offered me discounts on accessories and even offered to drive the car to me. So of course I went with them.

Have you decided to go with a color other than Mojito?

I doubt they'll drive that 62 miles at the recommended break in. Unless they guarantee they will, and you believe it, you may want to pick it up and drive it back yourself. Unless you believe break-in is a bunch of BS, then let them bring it to ya.

No, and I’ve decided I’d rather roll the dice on the interest rate, than on changing the colour. So I’m holding off on ordering until Mojito is available...

I’ve got a few dealers offering invoice, no doc fee, in rural southwestern Ontario. . I decided to hold off on ordering until I can order Mojito.

I sold my JK months ago in anticipation of it not getting as much resale as I would want closer to the JL launching...that also gave me the “cash” negotiating factor..I shopped all my local dealers that “wouldn’t be beat” until a dealer 500 mile away went 5% under invoice to keep me as a customer(same dealer that sold me the JK) and all the local dealers simply went silent)....when it comes to $$ on a car deal.. business is business....
