I think we are gonna go with the XLs…..seems like having a little extra wouldn’t hurt even for stock……and the video Brooke from RokBlokz did online seems to say that the XL would work fine on a stock Wrangler 2 door.

That said, wondering about the “cutout”…..I know the flaps can be ordered without the cutouts…..

But curious -- if we do not use the cutout, is it going to pop out on its own eventually or will it stay in place until someone pops it out?

Any chance anyone has a picture of an installed flap that has the cutout part still in tact?

I am asking because while we do not have stock rubicon sliders right now, having that option would not be a bad thing. And if we decided we hated the flaps, having the cutouts in tact would be a selling point on feebay. LOL

Put the RokBlokz on today. The perforated part for the factory rock rails aren’t big enough so I had to cut the holes larger. Like how they look.

Vote for RokBlokz, atleast the front. Put them on my Rubicon to help with the throw from the tires.
I have a rubicon with 35” tires that protrude about an 1 1/2” outside the wheel well. i keep my Rokblokz XL front flaps on all the time and remove my rear ones in the summer. With every penny.

Has anyone tried RokBlokz with AMP PowerStep XL? Is the cutout needed or would the solid flaps fit?
TIA

Do the rock blokz work with the mopar heavy duty steps?

looks like the cut out is only for the standard rubicon rails.

I got front and rear Rokblokz in the normal size for my JLUR 4xe. I have stock tires and wheels and aftermarket side rail/step. I got them without the cutout. They look and function great. I got black on black. If/when you get 35" or larger tires, you'll probably want the XL size, so take that into consideration.

You will have to cut the holes larger to fit. I held it next to the end of the step, traced it with a marker, then cut it out with a dremel.

Went with Weathertechs on the front. Installed on my Hella after a week of running without flaps and got 4 hinge chips in that week.

When I sold the Hella two months later, took them off and installed them on my Hydro. Four months later and no chips at all.

I think they were $40. I bought the rear ones as well but decided not to install them.

If you are going to add mud flaps to your Rubicon JL, Weathertech is the way to go. They look OEM and integrate seamlessly with the XR fender flares.

I was about to order these when I saw on the Weathertech site that they aren’t compatible with the XR package… but yours seem to work. Any idea why they are saying that?

Do you have the factory steel bumper group ? Weather techs site says the rears won’t fit with the steel bumper group

I guess WeatherTech is wrong because i have the steel bumper group and have them on with no modifications whatsoever.
