Open WIDE rear door

I know there is a custom door latch/strap that allows you to open rear door completely, more than default 90 degrees. I was not able to find it for the JL/JT platform. Anyone has a link?

If you curious why, I would like to build a slide out storage drawer, attached under the sleeping platform. And current rear door opening angle prevents from doing a full width drawer.

I think you would have to swap hinges in order to achieve this. Right now the hinges are the limiting factor in opening the tailgate, not the nylon strap.

That nylon strap just hides any wiring headed to the tailgate (camera, third break light, etc.).

Ah I got confused as well and was thinking tailgate.

I think you would have to unbolt the spring loaded door check and make a nylon strap that would allow the door to open further. Not real hard to do, just some sewing of nylon.

This will do what you're wanting. I had to have it since I went to 37s and now it opens wider. Actually it came with a longer arm, which is what you really need. Perhaps you can order just that part from Teraflex.
