Open end lug nut question

It's been a long time. Aesthetics aside, are there any pros or cons to using open end lug nuts?

Aesthetics, mostly.

I use open-ended lug nuts on the Jeep's winter wheel package, and my motorcycle trailer. But for the occasional quick dressing of the threads with a wire brush, there's really nothing else for concern here. Compatible locking lug nuts are still available, if desired.
