If I am on back roads, the chances of me getting high beam flashed is about 1 in 5. I feel like a jerk and it makes me feel bad. It also blinds me for a moment, especially if it's raining. I have a JLU Rubicon with the LED package. During commuting hours, this gets very annoying due to frequency.

just adjust them down, takes nothing more than a screwdriver. I haven't been flashed once and I have LEDs + a lift + 35s, I adjusted them down slightly, its a non-issue.

I'll give that a try. It's odd they are stock adjusted where they are (I am all stock)

I had same issue. I adjust down by 1 full turn and no one flashes me, now. I suggest marking the screws with white-out to better track your adjustment.

By the way, “down” adjustment is counterclockwise on the set screw.

I have a base model JL and I replaced the factory bulbs with some aftermarket LED bulbs that I got off of eBay for around $9 (for 2). It was a noticeable improvement, but even when I accidentally have the high beans on, no one seems to flash their lights at me to tell me to put the low beams on. I don't know if they are as bright as the factory ones, but at $700 less than the factory ones, I think it is worth it.

Of course, the factory $700 option probably includes LED bulbs on the turn signals and brake lights also and I don't have that (yet). I ordered the LED fog lights ($5 for 2) and I got them in the mail yesterday, so I'll probably put them on this evening and see how much difference they make.

I've noticed that on factory FCA vehicles. Maybe they do not do a great job aiming them while in production.

My brand new 2500 Ram with the halogen lights had the same issue. People constantly high beaming me, and when towing it was even worse. A quick adjustment corrected it.

There’s a lot more to the factory LEDs than the bulbs. The housings are designed to cast the light. No doubt your $5 bulbs look bright, but you’re not getting anywhere close to the factory LED output.

You have to experience the factory LEDs to really appreciate them. Worth every penny, and better than the (excellent) HIDs I had in my Gen I Ford Raptor. (I was afraid that LED would not be as good as HID.)

Maybe not as bright as the factory ones (since no one is flashing their brights at me when I accidentally leave my brights on), but they are a noticeable improvement over the regular bulbs and for a cost of $9 instead of $700, I consider it definitely worth it. If they are 50% of the difference between the base stock bulbs and the factory LED bulbs and only 1.3% the price, that's a good deal. It would be interesting to take a light meter and do a side by side comparison between the factory LED bulbs and these replacement bulbs. I don't think that they are as bright as some of the HID bulbs that I've had in other cars over the years, but they're acceptable. But you have to remember, I've also owned cars that only had 6V electrical systems, so maybe I'm not that picky as some of these youngsters who have been spoiled by the modern lighting systems. :)

Just got through installing and comparing the LED fog / driving bulbs. Did one side so that I could compare it to the stock bulb. Noticeably brighter in my opinion... Or maybe it is just that it is a whiter light and thus it *seems* brighter to me compared to the yellow tinted factory bulbs. Either way, it was worth the $5 (for 2 bulbs). So, I'm now at $14 for the 4 bulbs (headlights and fog lights). I'm not that concerned with having LED turn signals though, so I probably won't bother changing them out.

There's plenty of choices on eBay... You just need to lookup the bulb types that are used on your vehicle and do a bit of searching on eBay... Sylvania has a bulb lookup page that has the JL's bulbs and I determined the following bulb numbers:

Headlights: H13
Fog Lights: 2504
Backup Lights: 7440
Front Turn Signals: 7440A
Rear Turn Signals: 3157
Brake Lights: 3157
Tail Lights: 3157
Parking Light: 7443

The only ones I've replaced so far is the Headlights (H13) and Fog Lights (2504). Here's the links to the ones that I purchased. They might not still be available, but maybe they'll give you enough information to do a search for the same (or similar) item sold by another vendor.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Car-He...S-88000LM-660W-Light-Bulbs-6000K/132760878105
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2Pcs-PSX24...ED-DRL-Fog-Light-Bulb-High-Power/153130890088

I went with the 6000K color temperature since I believe it to have the whitest light and look the most natural. The kids that you see driving around with the lights that produce a lot of glare and have a bluish tint are probably using an 8000K color temperature.

I've also ordered the LED backup bulb replacement bulbs, but I have yet to receive them, so I don't know how much better they might be than the factory ones. I figure for $2.16 for two bulbs, it was worth a try.

Excellent, I used the numbers you referenced, and ordered the fog, backup, and brake lights.
