That’s an excellent question.

Full time job (On the road) + 9 kids (1 Toddler + 1 Newborn) = No time. The plan is to eventually do that though.
Sell the kids, cheaper in the long run.

Tracking, or, wander? Me thinks more optimal caster (mentioned above) should be considered. If you’re replacing tires to cater to highway use I’d recommend a P-metric highway all-terrain for the best ride while retaining just a little bit of tread aggressiveness for look and dirt road use.

Tell me about it! They get older and cost an arm and a leg. They are almost to the point where they can contribute monitarily.

Thanks for the advice, I will try and do the lower control arms, then get an alignment and run 32psi warm. I’ll see if that helps.

Speaking of tire pressure, what is an ideal on-road pressure for my tire? It’s a Load E.
Load E is not the ideal choice for your usage. E is a 1 ton heavy truck tire with a stiff sidewall and 55 - 65 lbs of dead weight. Try lowering your pressure to 30 psi or less. Looking at the sidewall, cold, there should be a little pooch, bubble, curvature just above the contact point. SL is the idea tire rating. Still 3500 lbs of load rating, less weight, a more compliant sidewall.

When we bought our Jeep it had the stock highway tires on it that I ran at 35 PSI. We switched to Cooper AT tires and tried them at 35 PSI and it was squirrely AF. I dropped the pressures down to 32-33 cold and it behaves significantly better. Not IFS car smooth but much better than before.
If you are running Cooper ST Pros you should be running those around 28 psi up front and 26 in the rear.

E rated!!!?!?! That's your problem right there. That is an extremely stiff sidewall. You should be running a C tire. D if you are getting up to the 37s and larger but even those you can find Cs in.

E-rated tires aren't that big a bugaboo. The studded Generals that my Jeep wears in the Winter are Load Range E. While the individual wheel/tire combo is 20 lbs. heavier when compared to the other wheelset, the ride quality is only mildly degraded...and Pennsylvania roads won't ever make the cover of Smooth Asphalt magazine.

More to the point, the Jeep's steering is fine when the Generals are installed. I do use the same tire pressure (+/- 1 PSI or so) as I do with the other tires. Granted, both sets of tires are identical in size.

In the OP's position, I'd experiment with different tire pressures. If No Joy, and the tires themselves are free of damage and wearing evenly, an alignment check might be in order.

Thank you for all your help. I’m going to take some PSI out and get those Mopar LCA’s and then an alignment by a shop that is familiar with Jeeps. After that, I’ll juat wait until I need new tires and look at Load C tires.

If I had 9 kids, the least of my worries would be how my jeep drives :)

Having said that, the OP is driving a vehicle with skinny thread, tall (but stiff load E) off-roady tires.

Just buy some take off Sahara 18" wheels/tires or even takeoff Rubicon wheels with street all season tires, but in the MOPAR front lower control arms (an NO you do not need an alignment after changing them). Set pressured to 32 cold, and you will transform the ride.

All of the above can be done for about $1,000 or even less with the right marketplace takeoffs.
