Been running those for 2 years now in mine, been flawless so far. And they are a huge improvement over the stock halogens for sure.

I did the same LED bulb swap 3+ years ago and it's been working flawlessly!

Note: on the 3.6 engine, you don't have to remove the grill to change bulbs.

cheap LEDs usually mean they blind oncoming vehicles, I don't ever think I saw after market LEDs that were not blinding.

looks ugly and dangerous is a bad combo.

That is incorrect in this case.
Although they aren't as good as the OE LED or those projector style replacements when it comes to sharp cutoff line or output, Beam Tech LED bulbs provide great beam pattern and do not blind upcoming traffic as you claim. For $40, it is a great upgrade over the halogen bulbs.
I have been using them for about 4 years on my 18' JL, and I haven't had a single flash.

Ugly or not it's subjective but definitely not dangerous to other drivers on the road.

Completely agree!

For those who doubt, these new LED bulbs are not the same as the old glare producing bulbs you're thinking of. They are designed specifically to create a beam pattern similar to the halogen bulb being replaced.

these pictures clearly show the problem with these bulbs, when you are on the other side of the road these things are blinding.

might look "nice " for $40 but they blind other drivers
Since we are talking about headlights, here is the beam pattern of beamtech LED bulbs that were taken at night when it's dark outside. Probably does a better job showing the results than a couple of pictures captured during daylight.

I have these same LEDs from Amazon. Had them installed for 2 years with zero issues. Best upgrade ever as the stock halogens should be illegal they are so bad.

Why did you have to remove the front grille? Is that required for a headlamp change even for the standard bulbs or was there additional work to do?
Speaking just about the 2.0T, the intercooler reservoir on the driver side allows virtually no clearance between it and the rear of the headlight housing. Faffing about with the passenger side light compels removal of the airbox assembly, but that doesn't solve the issue on the driver's side, so the grille must be removed. It's a straightforward job.

I've recently switched to the Beamtech LED H13s. Money and effort well spent. Extra care was taken to aim the new bulbs correctly, which should be done anyway. Having driven in the dark several times now, I've confirmed the practical aspect of their correct aim. Perhaps more importantly, not once did an oncoming driver flash their headlights at me.

I highly recommend you watch this video
Self explanatory & super easy to change yourself
OMG i can see at night ?
Uhhh, if I were you I would take down that video link..... mention of that person or their website isn't really allowed around these parts.... if you want to know why, just do a search on google and see some reddit posts.... It's not hard to find out.

On this subject of beam pattern, I did have to adjust the headlights slightly lower after LED bulb installation to get the correct pattern.

The factory halogen bulbs were so weak, beam height didn't matter as much.

Got them installed this morning and did have to re-aim a tad, wasn't off by much though. Beam pattern between one and the other is nearly indistinguishable. Just a lot more light output on the road.

As long they're aimed properly after installing, I don't see ever getting flashed with these. It may not be a hard cutoff like on a projector, but the soft cutoff line is certainly there, just like on the factory halogens. I knelt down to car level in front of them after aiming and it's not blinding in the slightest. Can't wait to test them on the road tonight.

Got my beamtech bulbs in the... on the porch today. (amazon doesn't put things in the mailbox) Will install them tomorrow while at work. Can't wait to see the difference, but now I'll have to get the fogs replaced as well. That'll look way too janky for me with one being replaced without the other ;)
Been wondering about the fog lights. Do these have to be replaced with a whole new pair of lamps, or can you just replace the bulbs?

They can be replaced with just bulbs as well, but I don't know that I would use these same beamtech ones on the fogs. (Or even if they are also H13, I honestly haven't looked into it that much yet) I would probably want a fully passive cooled bulb for down there instead of the fan cooled system that are on these beamtechs.
