That’s a good idea. We have Progressive and a full policy. I’ll call sometime soon and report back what they say.
It's not a good idea, it's a waste of time. You have a policy, read it.

When is the last time anyone had read their entire policy? Way easier to call and ask the very people you are paying for said policy and then it is on a recorded line and straight from the horses mouth. I've actually had a homeowner policy that they jerked me around on and I said pull your audio recordings for this date, listen to them and pay the claim. And they did.

To quote the general consensus of my student population, “I ain’t got time all that readin’!”

I do have the policy right on the phone/app, and that is a good idea to read it for that coverage.

I've never heard of anything being denied due to being off pavement. Note that it's identical to being on pavement. That is, if you break something then you deal with it the same way. Tows, etc., can become quite challenging though.

Hope to never need it, but… you never know!

Trail damage generally isn't covered by warranty. A bashed oil pan for example, you did that, so you own the repair cost. A bent fender, same scenario. That would be like expecting Jeep to warranty repair work from an auto accident that occurred while on road. After that, it depends on what broke, and the dealer's willingness to cover it. A broken front axle shaft on a stock JL that hasn't been obviously abused should be covered. On my 392 with 40s, if I go to the dealership for warranty work and it isn't something like a switch on the dash that quit working, I think they'll pretty much just laugh at me.

Damage I caused like a bashed oil pan I get. I’m talking about suspension like stuff that happens to break when off-roading in what a Jeep is made to do. I’m honest enough to know that I’m attempting a 7+/10 trail and fall down hard on rocks, that’s on me.

I've had rear diff issues dealt with under warranty multiple times. Not once was off roading questioned, but in each instance that was definitely involved.

I have metal cloak skids on both (and front and rear LCA’s with more coverage to come), so if there is an issue that should work in my favor.
I’m gonna do my best to protect the rig and not be an idiot off-road. Wives in the co-pilot seat definitely help in that area!
