Mines been doing it nonstop ever since it started a week ago. Never had the issue at all until last week. I have a bunch of stuff plugged in though so I'm sure I'll be told that's the issue. Again all worked fine until last week. Pretty frustrating for sure!
Does it go away when you unplug all USB cables? It's usually a cable / connection issue.

I have been trying to troubleshoot my Dads 2020 JL with 11k on it. Same deal, device not supported comes up when you start the vehicle then every 12 seconds after you clear it.

Here are some of the things I have tried;

Nothing plugged in, like ever as far as we know.
Not even a Bluetooth device.
Tried both reset procedures in the Uconnect (settings) menu.
Pulled the usb and radio fuse and did a reboot.
Spent hours going through the menus to get familiar with Uconnect and see if I could find a setting that may fix the situation, nothing really. Turned off iphone screen casting.
By selecting a source on the top menu, you can deduce what outlet is giving the error code, in our case its USB1..

Took a thumb drive with nothing on it and plugged it in to the USBA of the front media hub. This gives the result of the error message popping up once when you start up, then it goes away unless you start scrolling through screens and the system starts looking for the USB's..

Seems to me the USBC #1 is bad. Just a hunch, this thing is wonky and will act one way for a while then for no apparent reason start acting differently, like show that number three is the device not supported culprit.

Talked to a guy in the neighborhood who has the same rig, same issue, he has been fighting it for weeks. He swears that its a software thing and I would be a fool to buy the front media hub for 165 - 200 bucks. Not sure what to do. Will keep an eye on this thread for sure though.

Did you fix it? Mine has exactly the same problem and I couldn’t find nothing to solve it

Uninstall and reinstall Andriod Auto on my phone worked. Samsung S23+

Worth a try for anyone having issues.

I have a much larger post in one of the other forum listings but long story short, this isn't a "cable issue" when my JT decides to go stupid ALL of the usb ports do this, including a new 2024 Motorola and the Motorola supplied cable but the biggest kicker is that I have a USB flash drive that is fully recognized by uconnect any other day but when the "device not supported" issue occurs the usb flash drive creates the same error on all of the ports (usb on the dash, in the arm rest, and in the back seat). So the flash drive removes the BS of a poor quality cable and since the uconnect has a register of USB1, USB2, USB3 and all of those present the same issues with multiple phones, multiple cables, as well as a fat32 formatted flash drive with readable music this all points to a hardware or software failure within the uconnect. I firmly believe this to be software related. Issue started again yesterday and today the batteries were disconnected for at least an hour as I replaced the main and aux batteries and the error was still there, pulled the fuses (11 and 97) error continued, reset all defaults on the radio and "poof" the usb drive is recognized again. During that time the truck never was even put in gear and nothing was plugged in but I would sometimes get the "device not supported" upon turning on the truck. So for a reset to defaults to clear the error pretty much removed the idea of a damaged port also. I have 25 years in IT so I know the symptoms and the evidence of damaged ports. Boy do I miss my 2011 JK with the basic radio. I think I may go back to using a separate bluetooth speaker and just use it for navigation without the stupid radio issues but I use the usb drive frequently for music on trips to Kentucky as radio stations down start getting very churchy south of Indianapolis.

I've been fighting the same issues for over a year now, 2019 8.4 Connect with 30k miles. Doesn't seem to matter on iPhone model new or old. Only Apple cables and still the same issue. Recently added a wireless apple car play device plugged into the USB hub and not one issue since while my phone automatically connects and music plays.

This has to be a software issue, my '20 JLR (upgraded to 8.4" unit shortly after taking delivery) has been having same issue off and on over the last couple of years...and WITHOUT USB cables connected, just using satellite radio.
I get the same message on screen 'Device Not Supported' and then screen go black and radio keeps rebooting. After Jeep sits for an hour or so everything seems to work fine until this gremlin pops us again days, weeks or months later...

Yeah, I would fully buy a wireless adapter if that would resolve the issue but it won't as the wireless adapter requires a functional usb connection to the Jeep and that is the core of the issue. If the USB is non-functional there is no "adapter" to fix the problem. Unless there is an unknown direct USB connection on the back of the ucconect module itself but since I am assuming software issue this still wouldn't resolve the problem. If a usb flash drive can't be read to play an audio file it sure isn't going to be able to read the usb connection for a wireless adapter.

I think one of the software issues in the headhunt is unplugging my phone every time I got out of the Jeep. So far not one USB issue with the adapter. Coincidence? Maybe

I have had the failure occur while at gas stations when I shut off the Jeep to fill up and everything was working fine for the past 30-60 minutes, never unplugged the phone and after filling up the error occurs. I have also fried a usb drive, for music, that was connected in the arm rest for 3 years never being unplugged and this issue occurred as I was pulling out of my grandmother's driveway in Kentucky for a 7 hour drive home. No navigation for traffic alerts and no use of my personal audio for 7 hours was enough for me to consider getting rid of the Jeep as the whole 7 hours home the radio kept popping up the "device not supported" even though nothing was plugged in. This continued the entire trip even after stopping for gas, lunch, and a quick dog walk.
