Started Jeep this afternoon and received message displayed on radio screen"Device Not Supported". I hit "OK" the message disappears. About 10 seconds later the message reappears. I hit the "X" in the upper right corner of the screen. Message disappears then about 10 seconds later it reappears. I can't seem to get rid of it. Despite the message my phone is paired to the system. I've tried rebooting the phone, un-pairing\re-pairing it, shutting Jeep off\restarting, checked u connect site with my VIN (its up to date). So far nothing seems to get rid of this message which overlays all of my different screens i.e nav, radio etc. Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thank you. We tried that and we're still getting the message.

Retired and loving it!
On our '10 Liberty when something occasionally goes haywire we diconnect the negative battery canle for 10-15 minutes, That resets the vehicle's computer. Worth a try?

My android had problems and I found it only works with actual cords from Samsung. Not sure why as my replacement cord works with my wifes Chevy. Make sure you are using official apple cords.

@4570 apparently already unplugged all USB cables and it didn't help.

I have been trying to troubleshoot my Dads 2020 JL with 11k on it. Same deal, device not supported comes up when you start the vehicle then every 12 seconds after you clear it.

Here are some of the things I have tried;

Nothing plugged in, like ever as far as we know.
Not even a Bluetooth device.
Tried both reset procedures in the Uconnect (settings) menu.
Pulled the usb and radio fuse and did a reboot.
Spent hours going through the menus to get familiar with Uconnect and see if I could find a setting that may fix the situation, nothing really. Turned off iphone screen casting.
By selecting a source on the top menu, you can deduce what outlet is giving the error code, in our case its USB1..

Took a thumb drive with nothing on it and plugged it in to the USBA of the front media hub. This gives the result of the error message popping up once when you start up, then it goes away unless you start scrolling through screens and the system starts looking for the USB's..

Seems to me the USBC #1 is bad. Just a hunch, this thing is wonky and will act one way for a while then for no apparent reason start acting differently, like show that number three is the device not supported culprit.

Talked to a guy in the neighborhood who has the same rig, same issue, he has been fighting it for weeks. He swears that its a software thing and I would be a fool to buy the front media hub for 165 - 200 bucks. Not sure what to do. Will keep an eye on this thread for sure though.

Just had this start happening with both my JLU rubicons with the 8.4 Uconnect. Last week my wife’s jeep started getting this message. It would fix itself off and on. Sometimes it would work for days before the message came back, sometimes it would appear the next time. In addition to the message, sometimes my phone would continue charging while it was plugged in even though CarPlay wouldn’t start and the message would appear. Sometimes, it doesn’t charge or do anything while plugged in. Tried different cables, nothing fixes it except magical time.

Strangely enough, my Jeep started doing it tonight. Same symptoms. Coincidence, I think not. I’ve been in IT for 30 years. When these types of issues start on the same system in the same type car within a week apart, something is up, and it isn’t the phones or the cables. I’m thinking a bad software update that screwed up the USB controllers.

@JeepCares , what’s going on? I presume the system isn’t set to break at the same time across multiple vehicles.

Thanks,
John

Hi Blair,

Thanks for responding. Where can I find the Uconnect version number?

Thanks,

Yes! I’m having the same exact issue with my radio as well in a 23 Sahara. I’ve pulled fuses, disconnected battery, used a different cord, nothing works, I have an appointment set up for next week so we shall see what will happen.
