Anyone else have an issue with the door check/stopper making a popping/creaking noise when opening and shutting the door. I tried to loosen and tighten the nuts and sprayed it with some lithium grease with no luck.

Widespread issue unfortunately . Something about the metal separating inside. From what I remember, not much can be done unless you take the door apart and remove the check lever completely.

Yeah I see it can be purchased guess I’ll take the door panel off and see how hard it is to replace. It’s a shame,The Jeep don’t have 7,000 miles on it. And I don’t know why they decided to go with these on the JL, just the strap worked fine on the JK.

From what I remember reading many months ago, its not the lever thats making the noise its the metal inside thats connected to the lever. Its 2 pieces glued together and the glue separates causing the metal to pop. Ive considered removing the lever but it looked like a pita.

Has anyone disassembled the doors and removed these? The day I brought mine home I took the doors off to ensure the ‘22 half doors I bought were gonna fit and was a lil shocked at this lil door check thing. My JK didn’t have it and I almost didn’t notice it. Lucky I did because I would have been I little upset if I tried to remove the door and began struggling and not being able to see what in the world was preventing me from getting the door off. Anyway, is it an easy task to get rid of, I’ll probably try to get rid of it when the weather warms up.

it can be eliminated. I never minded any of my JK doors swinging freely so I don’t need the door stop, plus the mirrors on the JL are higher up and won’t give you the Infamous cowl ding like 98% of JKs have not to mention the JL cowl piece is plastic and replaceable

I'm reviving this thread about a known issue of popping/creaking noise from door check mechanisms. My 2025 Wrangler 2-door has this exact issue in both doors at 4k. My thoughts are that I can deal with it but is it ok to ignore? Are there any mechanical concerns I should consider by not getting the dealer to address it-does it need immediate attention or can it be ignored? Some seem to do so and live with it, that's why I ask. Thanks.

Just live with it. Mine's done it for over 200Kmi, still works. You'll find other issues to occupy your mind as the miles pile on.
What engine do you have? That's some impressive mileage.

It drives me nuts. I think two of my four doors I like that. The two doors that's used the most.
Sucks there is still no solution. I was thinking taking the door apart and trying to lube the shh out of that mechanism. may be it will help.
