Why in the world did Jeep discontinue the flip forward driver's seat for '26? Ugh! Getting to anything on the floor behind the seat is such a pain now.

I just though I'd mention it for anyone in the market for a '26 Wrangler. Be advised.

Wild guess, to cut production cost by standardizing eliminating the low volume seat.

How would anyone get in the back seat on the driver's side? Not that it matters to me, since my rear seat has been sitting on a shelf in the garage for the past 3 years, but it will be an issue for somebody...

I don’t think my 25 flips forward either. It folds. But folding and flipping are different.

To be fair, the front flip-down seats in the JL 2-door are pretty jank and prone to breaking. Would've been nice if they could've just redesigned them with a more robust mechanism, rather than getting rid of one of them. Seems like this will only increase your chances of having one break over time, since you'll now only be using one to get into the back.

Still not sure how Jeep screwed up a design that's been around for decades. 1980s 2-door vehicles had fold-down seats that could withstand a ton of use, even in the cheapest of econoboxes, but somehow the prep guy managed to get my passenger seat jammed stuck on delivery.

I had one of the seat latch handles break in my 2019 but I fixed it with JB weld and I never had another problem.

I rarely keep my back seat in my Jeep so that will make it easier to get to the floor behind the drives seat. On the other hand, my wife keeps her back seat in her JL.. I usually keep a tool bag on the floor behind the seat, and we usually put groceries on the back seat. That's going to be a problem.

Power seat on the drivers side of a 2 door makes it pretty much impossible to get anything out of the back. It does not go forward very far.

Manual seats are the same. I can't fit my arm between the seat and B pillar.

I have a ā€˜25. My seat slides forward then tilts to the steering wheel. My high school age kids get in and out of the back without any problems. I’ve been back there too and I’m 6’2ā€. Are you saying it just slides now and doesn’t tilt? That would be a shortcoming for sure. How do you adjust your back angle? I had fixed back buckets in my race car and they were good for that, but I would never put them in a Jeep and can’t imagine that’s the situation for ā€˜26. My TJ had the tilt forward and it was great, but the JL’s never had that to my knowledge.
