There seems to be something about the eTorque that's keeping those Jeeps from being finished. Any idea what could cause that?
Additional battery pack? I'd guess that lithium batteries for EVs are probably in higher than usual demand due to current gas prices (and more manufacturers creating new/additional EV models versus ICE).

Unless the 3.0TT is around the corner, I think it would makes a lot of sense to go back to offering the 3.6L without eTorque (not exactly sure which models you can get just the ESS, but I couldn't configure a 2-door Rubicon automatic w/auto 4WD with the non-eTorque 3.6). Heck, get rid of the ESS kit for a while if that helps at all too!

But they're building them. I'm thinking that they drive them off of the factory floor, which I'm guessing wouldn't be possible without that additional battery pack, right?

3.6L ESS shows up on Sports, Saharas, and Rubicons. Ditto for eTorque.

I'm sure I posted it to many times but, I've only been building a JL Willys 3.6 Auto and its only been this last month that its allowed ESS. What I can actually get, I really don't know.

I'm sure it's been posted too many times, but what you can do on the jeep.com build tool has been shown to not always reflect what you can or can not build.

The documents get posted here periodically, but your best bet is to verify what can be built through your dealer. Even they might not know of last-minute changes until they try to submit an order.

Trying to order a Willys Extreme Recon with V6 and am now being told that you can only get the 2.0 on that now as well.

Are you sure you're not referring to the 'find-a-Jeep' tool with the shitty options listed on the left-hand side instead of the full 'build-a-Jeep' configuration tool?

Afaik, the build configurator has always been accurate, albeit a bit behind compared to the most recent dealer order guides, as far as options and pricing is concerned. Iirc, some of the sponsor dealers here actually require you to submit a copy from the build configurator before placing a factory order.

I do agree that the Jeep finder tool should show you everything available across the US and yes, it's terribly inaccurate.
The configurator is designed to populate options filters in the 'find-a-jeep' tool. I was a little too specific with one thing I said. When I said if it allow's you to build a specifically spec'd vehicle then there has to be one of those exact builds in some dealer's inventory, that was too broad.

A more accurate description is that if an option is available in the configurator, then there is a Jeep in dealer stock somewhere with that particular option. This is one of the reason's new options normlly take a while before they are available in the configurator. And also why color options are available in the configurator long after a color has been discontinued.

When I ordered my JLUR last fall my first color choice was Nacho and second was chief blue; both were discontinued a few months before I placed my order but available in the configurator long after. I asked the dealer why they were still available in the configurator and he said because it's designed to help find what is available in dealer stock, somewhere.

The configurator tis a more user friendly (most of the time) tool than going through the order guides to make a custom build. But just becuase you can build it on the configurator is no guarantee you'll be able to build that exact jeep when you go to the dealer. The order guides are much better for this purpose, but even then there maybe other restrictions not represented in the order guide.
