Complete and total scam. My Sequoia and Charger have nitrogen and both had the tire pressure light flashing as soon as it went below freezing this year. Dealer raved about how much better nitrogen retained pressure through varied temps yet I never had that problem with normal air in my tires.
Same here. I think they just use regular air knowing that you won’t know until the temperature drops.
At least with regular air you can top it off at home.

No, even if you never pressure up and down for wheeling.

Right up there when they were pushing siping the tires all the time. In an emergency stop with a brick that is the 4 door, extra slits are not going to be a difference maker.

I had a $199 add on show up in the finance room for nitrogen fill. I told them to let the nitrogen out and give me air. They said no but took the $199 off. Lol
Seems like I could have gotten myself a good deal on Nitrogen. lol

$199?! Holy crap. One could invest that in a compressor and top-off as needed for a lifetime.

What a scam.

My tire pressure hasn't fluctuated in the year I've had mine.

Nitrogen with a full purge (requires two valves to do properly) makes a slight difference in high performance driving, but on a Jeep, no way. I have the equipment at home to do it from the sports car days, and don't. Five minutes a month to check air and 9/10 there's no need for anything. Winter and summer seasonal changes are about it. I air up and down enough I don't have to worry about leaks in between fills.

is a scam, along with etching windows with an id, scotchgaurding your seats, many forms of 'paint protection',

if i wander into a dealership and the window stickers have stuff like this added, i quickly wander out, even though the dealers will often drop the added charges. its just a gimmick to trick the rubes. its snakeoil and anybody that tries to sell you snakeoil is dishonest and cant be trusted in anything.

I put nitrogen in my Mustang tires 3 years ago and have only recently had to top it off.

Now my 4 month old Sahara has had to have air topped off the last 3 times we saw a major cold front (Like was 80+ one day then the next morning is was in the 40's)

That being said, I don't think I would do it again,

Nitrogen is totally worth it,,,,

IF you're driving in F1, NASCAR, or Indy.

Otherwise tell the dealer to get bent.

They gave me 30% off on the RAM so I sort of felt like a complainer saying something. However, $199 for something I didn't ask for isn't happening.

This kind of things dealer offered drive me nuts, and anyone with high school chemistry should figure it out. It is freakin Nitrogen!

If you are talking about Helium maybe, but that will be very costly to fill so the dealer has to actually purchase a tank of Helium not just con people.
