I'm going to be getting the underbody coated on my '22 before it sees it's first winter (and salt), and the shop says they spray in the inside of the doors, tailgate, and hood in addition to the underbody. Is this necessary with those parts being made of aluminum on the JL? Or would I be safe telling them to skip those to keep things a bit cleaner during the soak in period?

Appreciate any insight on this from folks who have had it done.

Would this company happen to be Krown? I was planning to do the same and go to Krown. I know they spray all those areas.

I had them spray it all after a conversation with them at the shop. They even went so far as to do things such as removing the tail lights to spray inside the body panels, which I thought was pretty cool. They couldn't get much inside the body as it turns out the JL has spray foam from the factory inside those spaces, but they got what they could.

So far I've been happy with the NHOU. The smell was mostly gone within a day, and completely gone within 2. There's minimal dripping on my driveway and parking spot at work too. I only counted a handful of them and that was within the first week. I haven't had any dripping since.

Oh ok.. haven't heard of them.. how much do they charge. Looks like Krown in Rochester Hills Michigan is about $150 give or take.. they have a warranty too as long as you do it once a year

They were about $250, so I'd stick with your other option if they're quoting you 100 less. Rochester wouldn't have been an option for me either way unfortunately. Too far to have someone pop me over to work while it was being done.

That said, the quality of work they did was great so I'm not upset about it. They even masked off my red shocks and sprayed them separately with the clear oil for me when the rest of the coat was black.

Edit: I'm sure they will mention it, but in case they don't -- the jeep will smoke A LOT for the first 15 or 20 miles while any overspray burns off of the exhaust areas. And if any gets on your rotors, your brakes will be pretty slick for a few miles as well. Just be aware so you're not having to do any emergency braking in the meantime.

Completely understand.. thats quite a drive.. I guess Krown only uses a clear oil spray.. I have to go talk to them more before I committ though..

The clear isn't exactly clear. I have a picture of "clear", it's actually kind of milky and looked bad imho to do the entire underside. Lemme find that for you and I'll post it in a minute.
