Welcome to the forum with your new Jeep. OMG, While I love BLACK Vehicles, I have started to get away from them. Spent way too much time trying to keep them right and looking good.
So many of the things you do I do myself. Some of them have to get done again and again and I’m sure you know that.

Anyway, Nice looking Jeep!

Nice looking Jeep.

Personally I have never added rustproofing to any of my vehicles as it isn’t needed. Back in 1987 auto manufacturers switched to galvanized steel which makes them rust resistant from the factory

I am a detail nut, but the main reason I chose black was for paint matching (chips, damage repair). Black is black, plus my wife didn't like purple ?

I used to manage an auto repair business (1982-2002) and we did automotive rustproofing. I kept the spray guns and 2 gallons of inner panel material. Walmart bought the corner, and the shop owner accepted their offer and closed the shop. Rustproofing the Jeep was free, except for my time.

@Northernlites

Looks realy good..

Had you considered changing out the front side, factrory marker lights.... to get rid of the amber.
@Diode Dynamics has an easy to install offering in smoke color that would look great on your black JL. The smoked would enhance that all black look... Look here.. On sale right now..

Oh ..... Your spare tire cover reminds me of forum sponsor @Threedom 's HD badge, HD key lock covers and such that have the compass on them. The detail on them is terrific.

I did the Diode side marker thing, except I went with clear(white jeep). almost 2 years no issue. Didn't like the amber either.

Try to find a TJ in the rust belt that hasn't been rustproofed, used in the winter and has an intact frame, or fenders.

My coworkers JK has a lot of rust starting on the frame. We put it on stands, wire brushed all the spots, used rust converter, painted and sprayed with CRC. Galvanized or not, they still rust.

His Jeep is garaged, big difference. Shouldn't be too bad to keep clean.
Total opposite, when staying outside, the rain, snow will keep a black vehicle much cleaner than a garage where the crap has a chance to totally dry on it. I’ve had both situations and can affirm that without a doubt. Add to that the fact that road salt will do more damage to steel in a warmer garage environment than outside. Needless to say that I keep even my now silver Jeep outside in the winter. Unless there’s a freezing rain warning.
