I have had two Wrangles in two years. The first was replaced by FCA under lemon law. I have has the current one since March of 2021. I have three issues and plan to take it into the dealer but I feel it will be of no use.

1. AC issue
On a trip to Colorado October 2021 the AC stopped working and only blew hot air after maybe 4 hours into the drive. Based on some quick research I turned it off for 30 minutes and it worked fine after that. Fast forward to this week we are on our way to Colorado again and the same thing happens again but this time the AC does not work until the next day. Considering the effort involved in trying to reproduce this issue I feel like the dealership will be helpless.

I personally know enough about HVAC that makes this more frustrating, I believe that the issue is due to the evaporator icing over or not draining water properly.

2. ESS
I have repeatedly gotten a stop start error. When the issue comes on it seems like many of the electronics go haywire. Again it is not contestant, sometimes all it takes is restarting the Jeep and it is fine.

3. Antenna
13 hours into our 15 hour drive to Colorado we get horrible static on SiriusXM, FM and AM radio. We stop and refuel, restart and same issue. Its not until the next morning that reception returns.

Please help us, we love our Wrangler despite these issues. It has about 10,000 miles on it and we use it just for fun. None of these issues are consistent or easily reproduced. I feel that if they cant be remedied I will be forced to sell the Jeep or trade it in for a Bronco since it is the only similar vehicle I know of on the market.

The a/c button is weird on the JL.
I just use the AUTO button and set the temp, the a/c button is not lit but I get a/c.
The a/c button seems to overide the auto.
XM antenna and am/fm are two different antennas.
Side one is am/fm.
Top one is xm sat.

Not sure, but have seen posts stating that when start/stop has issues & electronics go haywire, it’s usually a battery issue. Not sure if that would affect your a/c or not? Just a thought

I will be the first of many to say you should check the fuses in the fuse box under the hood. It is a common issue that they come out of the factory not fully seated. Just pop the cover off and firmly push down on all the fuses. If that doesn't work, I agree with Beach Bum about the aux battery.

No combination of control is helping the AC issue, its not the control causing the problem. Its freezing because its not draining.

Different antennas or not there is an issue with both at the same time.

I have read a bunch of posts saying the ESS battery issue creates electrical gremlins but the AC issue is going to be Mechanical of sorts, freezing/draining issue

Fuses were checked at the time I brought it home and after every adventure. Its 18 months old, I guess the AUX could be bad but is not going to fix the AC issue.

Yup, this.

Check voltage and load test batteries. If one fails, replace both. I was getting start/stop errors, replaced batteries and everything is fine. I keep it on a tender during the week because it doesn’t get driven much on weekdays.

seriously if one fails replace both? It’s 18 months old seems a bit soon for a battery

It’s probably not freezing due to it not draining. Your floor would likely be full of water before the evaporator housing got anywhere near full enough for that. And even if froze up, it wouldn’t cause it to blow hot air. It wouldn’t blow any air at all.

The battery design on the JL is prone to issues. Get yourself a better battery.
