Thank you, all, for the feedback. Will keep an eye on trans fluid and not worry about the pinging. Just love the ride and have fun like in my last one :)

I have a 2020 Wrangler Sahara JLU with the 2.0L Turbo and I've never noticed either pinging or white smoke since I've owned it.

My 2.0l has two coolant tanks. The one on top I think is for the Turbo. I have only added to this tank. Never found any leaks but ot of an abundance of caution I add. The etorque battery also uses coolant. Not sure which one it feeds from but a gallon of coolant I bought from Mopar is still over 1/2 full since 2019. 47k on mine mostly wheeling.

2021 Jeep Sahara 2L Turbo
Just purchased a new 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sport with the 2.0L Turbo and automatic transmission. I have 2,000 miles on it at this point and have noticed several things which I am not sure are issues or not.
1. after turning the vehicle off there are loud “pings” coming from underneath, often lasting 5 minutes or more.
2. when starting the vehicle, even a second or third time while running errands and it is warm, there is quite a bit of white smoke coming from the exhaust.

Took the Jeep in for first oil change at 2k miles and mentioned both things to the dealership. They said the pinging is natural sound of a turbo engine as it cools and that the white smoke is natural as the vehicle starts/warms.

My last Jeep was a 6 paired with a manual and I have no experience with this engine. Normal when new or an issue?

All this said, the 2.0 has a ton of pep and love driving it other than concerns listed about.

I just purchased a 21 Sahara turbo. Now I am reading about the coolant issues and living in dread. 43000 miles. Has anyone had longevity on this engine WITHOUT experiencing these issues?

Jeep tech here and I have to say the sound after shut off is normal. The white Smoke is normal for the first few minutes.
Gee... I wonder why no one wants to take their Jeeps to the dealer. WTF... I've had 4 JLs, three with 3.6L and one with 2.0L and NONE of them blew smoke at start up. There is no way that is normal on a brand new vehicle.
The only thing I have noticed and others have noticed is the 2.0 is a "chatty" engine on startup. I've started it cold, hot, warm, winter, summer, standing on my head, holding a coffee, on a day ending in Y and never had ANY smoke blow out.

Yeah I have. 2021 Rubi at 63k and runs great, no smoke, no pinging, no nothing. Bought it just over a year ago with 33k on it, put 30k in one year of everything from daily driving, 4 hour road trips, to hard rock crawling in 100 degree temps and it's great. Blowing smoke like he is describing is NOT normal.
