I am about to possibly grab a new 2023 Recon and am curious about price. Dealer has knocked 5k off if I finance through them (hopefully they can get good rates) and I am also a member of Tread Lightly so I can possibly get that deal as well. Think it is 1% below invoice.

Dealer said their 5k off was a better deal but did not show my proof. Doing all this remote so it is a little tougher, but curious if anyone thinks this seems about right? Price was roughly 68k and marked down to 63k.

On a side note, another dealer told me the tread lightly discount could not be used on in stock vehicles.

Thanks in advance for the input.

Need to know MSRP to make any price comparisons. Was there a markup included in the $68k? If you have the VIN, you can get the window sticker to see MSRP and then determine invoice pricing using the ordering guides available on this forum.

Also, I'm not aware of many dealers giving the Tread Lightly discount on in-stock Jeeps. If you're getting anything less than invoice on a Jeep off the lot, you're probably getting a pretty good deal these days.

Thanks, I did not know there were ordering guides, I appreciate it.

MSRP is 68,140 .... no markup on the window sticker. Here is a link to the sticker.

Your link to the window sticker doesn't work for me.

Check out the spreadsheet listed here and you can calculate invoice price. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...ve-pricing-spreadsheet-for-2023-jl-jlu.98533/

Based on your numbers, the deal is around 8% under MSRP. I think that's pretty good, especially if you're not waiting. Don't forget to factor in dealer fees though, some dealerships make a good bit of their profits back in those.

Thanks for the input and catching the bad link. Bad copy and paste job on my end. It is fixed :)

Holy crap! The auto transmission is now $4k?! I think it was only $2k when I bought my ‘22. Or maybe I’m in crack.
That being said, my “I used to be a consumer lender” advice is, know your credit score and what you should be approved for. The dealer financing will always be higher than what you could get elsewhere, unless there’s a manufacturer promotion for 0% or 1.9% for 72. The dealer works with several indirect lenders who underwrite your request and return rates to the slime ball F&I person, typically bumping that rate by 3% which the dealer then gets that extra interest up front with a chargeback available usually within 90 days if you pay off that loan. So, you can piss an F&I person off by taking the dealer financing and then refinancing for a better rate immediately after. Always piss off your F&I person. Mine at Fort Collins Jeep wouldn’t make eye contact with me or talk to me during our whole paperwork signing process. The one at a Chevy dealer threw the paperwork at us from across the table after I called him out on GAP and his extended warranty. He must have needed one more to get a bonus and we declined.

It used to be $2500 plus $750 for the 3.6 eTorque. The 3.6 is no charge now and they just rolled the $750 into the cost of the tranny plus a $750 price hike

Prices on a lot of packages have gone up. If you get the auto with 2.0, it's only $2k. So you're paying $2k just for the 3.6.

The only thing you can do at this point is go back in time and order at the lower prices. Otherwise, you're stuck paying what Jeep is charging. If dealerships are starting to deal on in-stock vehicles, things might be getting back to normal. The last year or two have been very strange in the car-sales business.

I second @COJeeper, if you have to use the dealer financing to get a good deal, just refinance shortly after.

The Recon doesn't come out until 2024, right?

FWIW, I ordered my 23 JLURXR from the factory through a dealership (from @Ratbert’s list) and they also offered a discount if I financed through them. I have a flawless credit score and the best the dealership could come back with was 6.5%, which was a slap in the face. I passed on that, used my credit union, and negotiated the dealer down to about the same price.

Window sticker shows Xtreme Recon. But, there will definitely be some confusion unless Jeep changes some names.
See, I saw the thread name and thought "they're bringing back the Rubicon Recon?!" And now I'm a little disappointed. I have red seatbelt envy.

Should've called the new EV the "Tacticool". Fits with their recent naming scheme, and avoids confusion!

I guess I should have said Rubicon with the Extreme Recon package. Just me being lazy and I can see where that will cause confusion down the road..

Only because Jeep has reused the "Recon" name for different things, and will soon have a Recon model unrelated to the Wrangler. You shouldn't have to type a paragraph just to describe your model and trim, but here we are.

Doesn't seem like a bad deal for an in-stock vehicle. For comparison, a sponsor/dealer here just started a deal last night for 10% off MSRP (for in-stock vehicles) for anyone with an affiliate, so ~$6,800 off for comparison. Whether or not an extra $1,800 off is worth at least a 5 hour drive to MD is another story (and depending on whether or not they have the model/options/color you're looking for). Think most dealers only honor TL/affiliate for factory orders, and many still don't want to budge too much, if at all for their in-stock units.
