Need help, I have a 2018 jeep wrangler Jl that won’t start. I only get a click . I have replaced both batteries, checked all the fuses, relays, high voltage fuse array has continuity, I’ve taken out the starter bench tested and both the solenoid and starter motor works. Since it’s 5 yrs old I plan to put in a new one. So my question I think it maybe the neutral safety switch but I’ve searched for two days and nobody has any into on where it’s located or no videos. Am I the first jl owner that has or thinks they may have a bad NSS? The odd thing a couple days ago after replacing the batteries and playing with the manual park release cord in started. I don’t think it was even in neutral at the time I was playing with the cord but it started at least a dozen different times, so I thought it was fixed but the next day just a click again. Also after the battery install I did run my code reader and I got the u0001 code which can come up from changing batteries and I got a p0850 with says it could be the nss. I cleared the codes and they are gone and won’t reappear. Any ideas? Really would appreciate. Sorry for the long Q.

Does the IC indicate Park? If so, move on. There is no switch.

Yes the info center says “P”. Flashes when you pull the manual release. Doesn’t start is manual neutral or park.

Oh, don't do that. The faults you got are from you trying to start it with the manual park release pulled.

Do you or do you not have signal at the starter?

So do I check that with my multi tester on the plastic connector on the starter after I push the start button? If the nss is bad will that stop the signal from showing there?
