I’m a believer you should be respectful to others as you would speak to one of your neighbors, yet we have gone overboard with what we call “PC.” If you (or my neighbor) post a picture of your Jeep (neighbor asks) with angry grill and lots of chrome accents, I’ll let you know that I don’t like it or maybe even that think it’s ugly. But I see no need to call you (or my neighbor) an idiot—regardless of my actual opinions.

And since we’re on this “likes” topic, I’ll admit to feeling the same way about modifying any vehicle just for looks. Jeeps with tall tires (decreased handling, acceleration & MPG, increased braking distance) when it never sees dirt is the same as loud exhausts on Hondas and Harley-Davidsons or hitch testicles on trucks. I’ll likely give you a wave/waddup if you’re driving a YJ on 31s with a dirty winch. If it’s a 392 with coil spacers and pristine differential housings, I’ll probably just be snob and ignore you. I’m sure my thoughts offend someone. But if I’m not insulting you (e.g calling you a loser), why should you care?
I think someone asking your opinion is totally different. Ask me what I think about angry grills and I'll tell you I hate em. Post a picture in a thread and I'll just keep scrolling all the while thinking I hate it.

I agree with the OP, except for the angry grill part... I just can't... I remember in 2012-2013 when they came out, they were actually just half circles that went on the headlight surround, not total grill replacements. Although I admit that the JK grill wasn't the best looking grill, Angry looking Jeeps was a new thing... BACK THEN!!! and was cool to some for a few months.

It's like when the hilarious trend of ''pants on the ground'' (pants worn under the butt) that was originally started by gay inmates to show other inmates that they were submitive and willing to bend over and take it. Somehow, it became a cool thing outside the walls and the trend was spread by Rapers and those that didn't know the meaning, until almost a complete generation copied that flabbergasting crap.

Angry grills on a JL is like those ex-teens that are now in their 30s and still wearing their pants on the ground. Just NO !!!

This thread truly is funny - how many posts are there that start out with "we should just appreciate everyone's right to modify as they want" and end up with "but angry grilles are dumb as hell...."

This will be my first Jeep and I personally do not plan to heavily mod it. The most I plan to do is a 2in lift with 35s, Roof rack, Roof top tent and automatic running boards. Most of my money will be spent on camping necessities. I did not order a $70K Jeep to feel like it needed heavy modifications right from the jump. I hear JL/JLU's are more than capable off-road as stock without all the extra mods. But everyone also has their Jeep for the own personally uses.

I have seen some really nice mods, and also some excessive mods. But honestly who cares? if they like stock models, cool. If they enjoy over the top mods, also cool. Each their own. Shii call me a soccer mom, I'm cool with it. I'll just make you my step son/daughter. ?‍♀?
I watch a video on Korn-hub that started this way exactly...

We are fixated on the LOOK of rubber. I love 33s & 17 rims. I also loved watching Bigfoot smash cars @ MSG back in the 80's. If you're not a crawler is it really worth making ur rig drive even shittier?

I grew up about a mile from Bob Chandler in Affton, MO. Back in the mid 70's those monster trucks were all over the neighborhood. To the point where people complained about the bumpers and the height law was changed because of them. Even back then, people had a negative opinion of that look. Only difference was, they didn't have the intranets to complain about it. So it was letters to the editors for the newspapers.
