  • A Jeep is not a car, it's a Jeep
  • Seems big, what if you could fold it into a mini jeep with specs on hood, top, sides, bottom, etc.
  • Add a bottle opener on the corner?

A Jeep or more specifically a Wrangler is still a car. Not a good car by some accounts but a car none the less.

1. That is my bad. I am just getting in to the community.
2. This is a great idea, and I am looking at one day making one credit card sized, but unfortunately the manufacturing methods I have access too will not allow for super fine detail so it would be very difficult to design. Hopefully one day I can do this though.
3. This is an excellent idea, I will be implementing this.
Thank you for the input!

Cool idea. Maybe add a clever way to attach and/or store it?
The hole in the corner is to hang it, and the 430 stainless steel is purposefully magnetic so that it can be mounted under the hood or to a role cage using just magnets or magnets with adhesive depending on how magnetic the mounting surface is. Wow said magnets a lot there. Anyway, I will absolutely take any additional ideas for mounting that people have. I want to make them super simple and easy to carry around. No point in buying a tool if its more work to use it then it is useful.

I should clarify that I would not recommend storing the plate under your hood while moving, as I cannot vouch for the strength of all magnets. But, in my testing with 7 dollar amazon neodymium magnets and samples of the steel, there is almost no way it is falling off.

Thumbs up for making an effort, but to be brutally honest, I don't see much need for such a gadget. There's not really any info there that would be useful or relevant on the trail. Most anyone that would be wrenching on the trail already knows it and will have the appropriate tools, parts and/or fluids with them. Those that don't already know that info aren't likely to be doing trail repairs on their own and will likely only need the phone number to a towing and recovery service. Again, not trying to discourage you, just offering my opinion.

Yes. No ill intent taken. This was my main worry with this project. It's a somewhat niche group of people, within an already niche community that would need this. Part of my purpose of posting it here was to see what information if any, the more experienced group would want to have for this. I like to think that the main group this would be marketed to is people that are just starting to work on their own cars for the first time. But, I recognize that this is a small group.
My original inspiration for this project was a very similar piece that came in a cooking knife set that I got. On it was simple recipes for basic sauces, sizes for different kinds of chops, conversions for c to f, and some other miscellaneous info. While most experienced chefs would not need something like that at all, as a beginner I found myself using it quite often. Granted, cars are very different from cooking, but I felt like the idea may have been transferable.
Anyways, I completely understand the hesitancy, and I myself am hesitant, as per me posting this question in the first place. If there is simply no use for something like this then I won't continue to pursue it, but if there are some little tweaks I can make here or there that would have veterans and rookies using it, then there may be some value in them.
Thank You for the response!

Forgot to add this:
This may also be the kid in me speaking, and not true from the view of most people, but I think they are kind of cool looking, and could even double as a kind of showpiece. I do not see any value in it being exclusively a showpiece, after all function before form every time. But, for some people this may be an added plus.
Anyways, if I have to over explain the value of it then that may mean there is none, but I thought I would offer my thinking and perspective.

People don't typically refer to a semi, an F350, a side by side, or a golf cart as "a car", but by most definitions they're technically cars. If you're comfortable talking about a golf cart car, then sure, a Wrangler can be called a car too. Most of us, however, don't typically think of our Wranglers as cars.

It’s not a bad idea; neat stocking, stuffer. There are people out there who wear Jeep t-shirts, hats, have the Jeep seat towels... Price this right and it will sell.

Thank you! That's the goal hopefully!

None... but it pays well.
Didn't op state older jeeps.... 4 doors are non existent. Haven't seen one made from the 80s to 2000. Clearly today's market will steer you wrong... just like the JL and JT so they say.
